Lingerie for Wedding Night/honeymoon - stores?

Future Mrs. Polar Bear, on February 5, 2019 at 12:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I could use some help finding an in-person store I can shop at for some lingerie for my wedding night and honeymoon with my FH. My favorite store used to be Frederick's but they closed down, and Victoria Secret just doesn't cut it.

I'd buy online but I always have an issue finding something that fits me right, and let me just say One Size doesn't fit all. My cup size is small, and I'm a tiny person, but even a small size sometimes the cup is too big for me.

I'd really like to be able to go into a store, rather than buy online. I'm looking for something that fits my cup size, and allows me to show off my body without showing my small tummy pouch that makes me look 3-5 months pregnant, ha!

Favorite colors for lingerie are, blood red, black, brewers blue, teal...

Any recommendations? I live in Milwaukee, WI. I miss Frederick's of Hollywood...

I know! I feel like Victoria’s Secret isn’t what it was 10+ years ago. I got a cute “Bride” robe at Macy’s and a few very lovely white lace pieces at Nordstrom (suprised me).

    Simone,

Thank you. I'll have to keep looking at different Kohl stores. Most I'm finding in stores are just dresses or they have the one size fits all on them.

Interesting...I never thought of Nordstrom nor Macys. Both are good ideas. Thank you very much!

Yes..Victoria Secret..besides the stock they carry, I feel like I always get bombarded by customer service. I just want to look at lingerie in peace until I have a question, ha!

You're welcome! I was pleasantly surprised with Nordstrom. I needed a strapless bra for my reception outfit so I looked not really expecting to find anything. Surprise.

lol. That's true too. I'm upset VS got rid of their lace bikinis!!! When you have a booty, the hip huggers show crack (ew) but their high rise can be too big (sigh).

I had a 'Lingerie' Bridal Shower with only my sister and girlfriends. They gave me a ton of lingerie from many places. Some from H&M Intimates were my favs! Regular clothing stores like Forever21 do sell some lingerie also.

Definitely Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. Also Yelp your area for a specialized lingerie store!

Yes! That's exactly it. Ugh! They make it so difficult even to buy underwear these days, ha!

    Dancingwiththekumars,

Sounds like you had a lot of fun and great gifts!

Thank you so much for the ideas. I'll have to check out H&M and Forever21. I hadn't considered those.

Lol. I'm either getting too old or they're catering to millennials. Boy shorts? Yuck. Low rise? Hello Crack. Bring back the soft cotton bikinis with lace!

    Pirate & 60s Bride:

As a millennial I feel like they are catering to anyone who isn't my size, ha! I wear small or 4-6 I guess you could say, and I can NEVER find my size. Maybe I just shop at the wrong time, the day after everyone else my size goes shopping Smiley smile

I prefer the boy shorts because I've never really been into Lace and my body says I have to wear cotton or it yells at me. Though, its horrible because cotton shrinks. I just spent a load of money on new underwear and I'm already deciding next time I'll buy one size bigger so a) I can find my size and b) if they shrink I can still wear them longer, ha!

I'm with you though, I'm not found of any crack showing lol
