lgbt planning help! 🙂

Cassi, on March 4, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 17
Hey guys! I have posted one discussion so far on venue ideas and an ideal location&time for a Florida beach wedding and I’ve gotten some good insight! I am wondering what are your thoughts on ideas for themes when the wedding is small and kind of close knit? Is it dumb to still want to do all of the big wedding stuff with only a select few of people? We just want our wedding to be fun and full of love and support! It’ll probably be majority our friends that attend. I’ve seen people ask some really interesting things and get really good feedback so I thought I’d try it out.😁

Themes aren’t necessary no matter the size of the wedding! “Wedding” is enough of a theme. I would just find a color scheme and overall feel that you like. Definitely not dumb to still want traditional wedding aspects with a smaller guest list.

Thanks caytlyn! I still want to have the bridal party and I thought about maybe making it a sleepover b pajama thing for us girls. We were also thinking of a combined bachelorette party too. Just ideas. We still have a while before we say “I do” I just want to get a jump start!

Honestly your wedding is probably the best excuse to really do whatever you want. I’ve seen some people on here go w themes (pirate, steam punk, Halloween etc) and if they love it then more power to them!! Sleepover sounds fun so if you and your fiancé want
to do it then go for it. Smiley smile Have fun w it. Be creative. Enjoy the planning!

You can still do all the wedding things even with a small invite list. Our wedding will be small with about 35 guests. Most are close family and then a few friends. We are doing a DW in Gatlinburg (we live about 4 hours away).
I don’t think we will do the whole bridal shower, bachelor/ette parties, but we are planning a wedding. Dress, small bridal party (our kids as MOH, Best Man and flower girl), unity ceremony, reception, flowers, decor, etc.
Do it the way you want.

Do it up and enjoy it. LGBT or otherwise have the wedding you want. I’m 60 and I have a big stinking fluffy dress with tulle and lots of bling. You be you and enjoy it!

Go for it. We threw a pirate wedding for just 15 guests! We skipped dancing/DJ because we weren’t into it but we had a beautiful ceremony then a pirate reception with an open bar and 5-star feast in a wine cave. I had a formal wedding dress and enjoyed getting my hair & makeup done. It had many elements of a “big” wedding but felt like a wonderfully-intimate dinner party.

I love that! I used to think I wanted a large wedding but I also never really put all of the thought into it until the last few years and I would much rather put that extra money into our wedding attire and planning 😊

I’ve really only been dead set on those two 😓Lol we know we are still trying to decide on location so that we don’t get rained out or sweat to death 😂 There literally may be like 8 people total including our children. We also want something all inclusive like I’m not sure if the venues provide a hotel stay or if we have to we’ll rent a home for everyone to stay in. I’ve had 2 back to back birthdays so this is the most digging into planning I’ve done since we got engaged 😁

Definitely!! So far I like ‘barefoot wedding’ I believe it’s called. I think we are going to visit Destin sometime this summer to get a feel 🙂
