Let's talk wedding dresses!

Alexis , on January 20, 2020 at 6:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 22

Hey Ladies!

I just recently got engaged on Thanksgiving, and I'm starting to plan our 2021 wedding. Naturally, one of the parts I'm most excited about is finding an amazing dress...within a reasonable budget. All of my budget brides with dresses $2500 and under, what are some of your favorite affordable brands, and if you're already married, I'd love to see what beautiful gown you wore!

I wore this dress from David’s Bridal (it was from their own line, I think). A lucky find! It was originally $1,000, but I got the last one on clearance for $360 (plus tax)

Let's talk wedding dresses! 5My budget was $900. I went to a local boutique 2 days before their big sample sale. They already had all of the dresses tagged for the sale so I got mine for $399! My tip is to look for sample sales and to go the day before! You’ll still get the shopping experience and maybe get the sample sale price

I got mine at David’s for about $1200 before alterations. I loved my dress...my best tip would be to try on many types of styles, you just never know what will work best for you!

Wowwww! Such a gorgeous dress for such a low price! I'll keep that in mind. I live in Bermuda so I'll have to travel to the US to buy my dress. This will definitely be great for my budget.

I got an Essence of Australia gown for $2,000. It’s gorgeous, and I was surprised it was only 2k with all of the details on it. Def a great brand!

I didn’t want to spend more than $1500 for mine. I shopped at BHLDN, Cocomelody, and other boutiques. Like Paige, I ended up getting my dress at a sample sale. I ended up spending $300 on my dress that was originally $2000.

If you’re wanting to look for sample sales (or just, sales in general) I’d recommend visiting https://www.nationalbridalsaleevent.com/ . You can look for boutiques that participate in the event in the location you’ll be traveling to. Every shop does the event differently, but this is how I got my dress at such a discounted rate.

My dress is a Vera Wang from her white collection. It was $898 and I absolutely love it. I can't wait to wear it, and I want to wear it for more than the one day D:

Eddy K and Essence for lace and style... I'd get a dress that is $500 below your dress budget to accommodate your alterations. Shoes, veil, under things, stockings, etc. is all extra on top of the dress and alterations...

So when we were figuring out our budget for everything, my fiance said that I could spend $1,500 on a dress. I was more than okay with this since I didn't want to spend more than $1,000. I ended up going to a bridal boutique that was having a White Christmas sale and got a $2,160 Provovias gown for $350, which leaves me a ton of room in the budget for alterations and accessories.

Like others have mentioned, I would definitely recommend looking for a sale (obviously lol). They may be sample dresses but, in my experience, there is nothing wrong with them. Mine is missing a couple buttons, which is nothing, and the boutique where I bought my dress offers the option to send the dress out for a professional cleaning, so it will come back basically brand new.

I think with your budget though you have plenty of options to find a dress that you love! Good luck!
