Let’s talk June weddings!

Abby, on March 1, 2021 at 8:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
So me and my husband got eloped last June 12th because we could not have our wedding! Well we moved it to this year! Well we have so much left to do, I’ve been holding off with the uncertainty like I still don’t have a dress, my maid of honor is pregnant and lives away and who knows what travel will look like this summer and they are saying that most people won’t receive vaccines until June/July! I don’t want to worry about people getting sick at my wedding and socially distancing and not being able to have everyone there.. who’s holding off another year?

My husband and I did something similar last June. Our wedding was scheduled for June 13, we moved the big shindig to June 13 this year, but still got married on that day last year in his parents backyard.
Now we are trying to figure out if we should stick with June 13 this year or postpone again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same! I am really feeling like I should postpone again! I just would HATE if someone got sick on my account!

Exactly. We are still considering having it on June 13th this year, but with a scaled down guest list.
Mostly because the idea of postponing AGAIN is really making me a bit miserable 😔
Plus, my husband and I just suffered a miscarriage unfortunately, and we’d like to try again ASAP. But I really don’t want to be like 7-8 months pregnant on our new date so I’m worried about pushing it out too far!

We postponed from last year and are going forward. We did not elope last year, this is it. We are hoping that our at risk guests and a lot of our other guest will be vaccinated. Most are either school personnel or first responders. We are full steam ahead with a cut down guest list. Good luck to all still in the fence and I’ll know you’ll do what’s right for you. It was such a relief when we finally made the decision and the waiting was over.

Not June, but mid-May. We postponed from last year and don't have the energy to do it again, so we will be moving forward with a reduced guest list.

Didn’t postpone June 2021 is our initial day. We aren’t postponing. We’ve made necessary adjustments to the wedding chopped down the list did household/close family seating, personalized masks, sanitizer, hand wipes, took out dancing and replaced with alternative entertainment for the night. Fh and I are also hoping/praying if Fauci and Biden’s predictions are correct then most guests if not all will hopefully be vaccinated by then. Our state also requires testing for weddings and we came up with a safety plan to share with guests so everyone is well informed before attending. So we feel as prepared as we can be. I honestly just want to get married this stress of covid and wedding planning has been unbearable and I can’t imagine stretching this feeling out any longer. We just want to start our lives. Covid had sent us into existential crisis mode and we have so much we want to do (babies/new home) and don’t want to hold off another second by waiting even longer to get married.
