Less than $1000 for wedding venue in Maryland

Lauren, on September 12, 2019 at 10:04 PM Posted in Maryland Planning 0 14
Hi!
i am having my wedding May 23, 2020 and can’t find a cheap wedding reception location. Both my fiancé and I came from large families so the minimum guest list is exactly 125 people and everywhere is above $3000 or more. Does anyone know of a cheap wedding reception location under or around $1000

Is that just for the reception or what does that include? Tables, chairs, linens, dishes? What do you need for that price?

There was a thread earlier from Aberdeen, MD. I'll link

Is the $1,000 just for the location or is that to include food and drinks as well?? If so there is no way with 125 guests.
Try a park, or maybe a restaurant, a botanical garden or local art museum perhaps. $1000 venue for 125 guests is going to be kind of tough but you can probably pull it off. Your other issue is time. You only have 8 months so you don't really have a lot of time to shop around. Hopefully you can get some better ideas from others, I'm sorry I wasn't much help!! If I think of anything else I will definitely let you know!! Good luck!!

It’s only for the venue. We have extra money saved up for food and drink but the venue has to be around $1000

We got married at Turf Valley followed by brunch in their restaurant. Before deciding, I was looking into wineries that allowed private events (reception to be held elsewhere). I wish I still had my list, theres so many up there! Not too expensive either!

Mansion at valley country club is beautiful. There’s no site fee for the reception, but you have to go through them for food/alcohol. (We’re paying $69 per person for food and open bar). They do have a site fee for the ceremony if you choose to have your ceremony with them. They are located in Towson.

Look for a local fire hall. They usually rent pretty cheap and come with tables and chairs. You'll probably have to set up, take down, and clean up but it's affordable and doable

I recommend you look at public places owned by the city you like in, such as park shelters, etc.

That’s a tough budget given 125 guests. You might try community centers, church halls, or park pavilions that allow outside catering. Also check this discussion on budget venues and planning tips with property management London for local ideas and advice.
