Lesbian Bride needs Tailored suit

Hailey, on December 7, 2019 at 10:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 9
Help!! I’m getting married 10/10/2020 and I need to find somewhere that can help me find the right look for my wedding. My fiancé is wearing a dress but I’ve never been all that girly or crazy about a dress for myself. I want to wear gray pants with a white shirt and gray suspenders with a eggplant purple tie.... maybe a vest... not sure... but I need help on where exactly to look. I don’t want a pair of pants that are going to be sagging and made for a dude and the same goes for my shirt.... any suggestions?? I’m in middle Georgia 😕

Why not just wear gray slacks for women like you would for work. They will be fitted for the femal body. I would say ones that are fitted at the ankle. Like this?

I’ve thought about doing that and then if need be get them altered. I’m wearing a pair of AirMax 90s that I had customized with our wedding colors... not sure if I need to go slim fit and stick to the leg type or wear something more flared or boot cut at the bottom though. Decisions decisions

LOL I feel you. I am now questioning my hair for the day of lol. Hmmmm...with sneakers you could do fitted, some people wear skinny jeans tucked inside but maybe a bit more flared (not necessarily boot flare cut) may go best with the sneakers.

SIL had his suit custom made by Indochino. I just checked their website (https://www.indochino.com/help/measurements) and found the following:

Do you make clothing for women?

In a word, yes. However, our patterning process is primarily designed to flatter the typical male silhouette. Our suit cuts and designs may not be specific for a female silhouette but we can customize our suits in some ways to try and make them a better fit for the female form. We have some very satisfied female customers who are looking for a more masculine fit.

SIL went to one of their brick & mortar stores to be measured for and order his suit, but they have strictly online options as well. Otherwise, an option might be to shop for a pantsuit in the women's department of large clothing retailers like Macy's, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Talbots, etc. Especially this time of year, they likely carry more formal/evening wear style pantsuits along with their usual business-focused options. Good luck!

    Congratulations!
I don't know Georgia very well, so I don't have any incredibly specific store suggestions, but I'll try anyway. I feel like suspenders aren't really gender-specific so a department store men's department would probably be the easiest place too find those (or like, Amazon since they're adjustable so you don't have to worry about the fit). The Tie Bar has basically any tie color you might want-I just searched for purple on their website and there were 251 options. They only have stores in the northeast, but they also sell ties at some BHLDN stores and there's one in Atlanta, so you could call them and ask if you wanted to see them in person. For the pants, anywhere that sells women's pants suits/office-y clothes should be able to help you. I personally like Banana Republic, JCrew, and Ann Taylor for that kind of stuff. The best way to make sure anything looks good on you is just to have it tailored. I'm kind of awkwardly shaped so I've had a lot of stuff altered and it always looks way better afterward.
    Good luck!
