Lemonade Stand at Ceremony - Mason Jars?

Katy, on August 14, 2012 at 8:09 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

We are having a Lace and Lemonade theme wedding, and it will be in the end of May in Missouri, so HOT! the ceremony will be indoors but the ceremony is outside so I want to serve lemonade at the ceremony as people are sitting down. For this I have a couple questions

I think serving lemonade in the mason jars is cute, but it is really logical? Where do people put the jars afterwards? I don't want people feeling awkward holding a mason jar after the ceremony, just spread it word of mouth to put them on a table after the ceremony??

Also, what would you like to be served? Lemonade, Water and Ice Tea? Or do you think just different flavors of lemonade is cuter?

I think the jars are cute but if you or your caterer don't have these it could be more costly to do this way. I would have water also for sure. If it's hot I'm sure some people would prefer water.

We are having lemonade, iced tea and water served before our ceremony as well. I love the mason jar idea - but i agree, that your guests may get tired of holding the mason jars for the entire ceremony.

I love this idea!! "lemonade and lace" It's so original and sweet and southern! LOVE it!!

As for wondering where people will put the glasses, I think people will just set them wherever. You'll probably have mason jars everywhere! lol

Maybe you could designate a spot for empty jars and put a little sign on the table telling people where to put their jars when they are finished with them.

oooh...and decorate the sign with lace!!

Thanks ladies, We do have mason jars already from a cousins wedding that I am welcome to use if I want. I think I may have my two older nephews stand at the table and tell them to return the glasses to the table after the ceremony. But If they get left at the seats that wouldn't be bad either

I think this is a very cute idea! If you like the idea of having multiple flavor options, maybe have regular lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and water? Also, some guests might find the mason jars a bit difficult to drink from. Perhaps you could provide some decorative straws, as well. (at my shower, my cousin had these adorable pinkand white striped straws. They were darling and everyone loved them!)

If you already have the jars and it's free to use them, I'd do that so you don't have to rent extra glassware. And if you do use the jars I would include some cute straws. Sometimes it's hard to drink from a mason jar b/c the threading around the mouth of the jar can make people dribble. Maybe it's just me though. Smiley smile

We did a beverage station at our wedding with lemonade, tea, water and it was a huge hit but turned out to be slightly pricey b/c of all the extra glassware we needed.
