Leggings day of wedding

Bride2B, on December 1, 2017 at 10:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

So I'm a big legging fan (although I only really wear them around the house). I found some really cute and cheap leggings online that I think might be fun to wear with the bridal party the day of, instead of robes. Also thinking it might make for a cute picture. My wedding is in New Orleans, and these are Mardi Gras mask super soft leggings. Anyone else do this?

As long as you add a top that is long enough, I'm sure no one but the bride cares what any of us wear. Do you know for sure that everyone in your bridal party is comfortable wearing leggings for pics?

I did this for my first wedding and loved it. Super comfy to get ready in.

Why don't you ask the bridal party? I, for one, would hate wearing leggings for photos unless I had a very long shirt on. I roll my eyes at the way some people wear leggings these days. They're not a substitute for pants.

I am doing matching leggings and button up shirts. I think that will be much more comfortable than robes and still super cute for pictures.

I bought robes for the bridal party to wear and one of my BM sells lularoe. She gave everyone matching leggings to wear under the robes. The pictures turned out really cute.

I got my bridal party lularoe leggings. Already have to them since one was going to Disney land and they were Mickey mouse. They loved them

I can't imagine wearing leggings in New Orleans at the end of June.

My girls and I will probably be in yoga pants, I never wear leggings.

For a wedding I was a BM in the bride gave us all leggings and shirt for getting ready in. The leggings were really thin and see through, but thankfully I brought a spare pair with me. But it was super comfy for getting ready in, and way better than a robe in my opinion.

This sounds much better than matching robes, but I'm also in favor of letting BMs wear whatever they want to wear (and what they're comfortable in) while getting ready.

I prefer yoga pants to leggings as well, but I can't really explain the different. I think yoga pants are less...tight and more flattering on me than leggings. I wore yoga pants and my feyonce shirt to get ready and was so comfortable!

I like this idea! I was worried about robes being uncomfortable for some of the BMs this sounds like a better option!

Thanks for your responses! I ended up buying them, just in case. I'm still finalizing details, but if we get a good deal at the hotel I want, it has a hair salon inside. My hair dresser that I typically use suggested getting ready in a salon because it's much easier vs in a hotel room, so it's something I'm thinking about. Because of this more public setting, robes are going to be out of the question, and honestly I wouldn't want to wear a robe myself. I'm thinking it's a way to look cute while in the hotel and salon, and I'll also get sone basic white shirts/tanks, or tell them to bring one. I have plenty of other gifts for them (I'm going kind of overboard with this) so I'm not worried about that. One of my girls sells Lularoe, and these are not that brand, so that could be a slight issue. But I'm very easy going and if they have a strong opinion about the leggings I can scrap the idea and just give them away or something.

ETA: As far as being NOLA in the summer, in my experience, everything tends to be super air conditioned at that time of year, so it could potentially be freezing in that salon. The times I had to dress the warmest when i lived there were during the summer...80% humidity and 90 degrees and I'd be lugging blankets and gloves and jackets around with me, haha

Leggings for New Orleans in June??? I would opt for some cute PJ shorts instead. I love me some leggings.....I keep all my favorite LuLaRoe consultants in business with the amount I own, but not in hot weather! Even inside. They are strictly for 50 degrees and colder for me

These are the leggings I did end up buying. Purple with gold foil! Even if they hate the idea, I'll end up giving them away or something Smiley smile

Love the idea and this is what I'll be doing. As a December bride, I want comfy and warm. Those silky robes are not either of those two, in my opinion.

Also, just my opinion, but the robes are over done

Didn't have a bridal party but I did get ready with my SIL. We both worse black leggings. I didn't ask her to, we both happen to just wear the same thing. We got ready at my parents home and these were the most comfortable and still looked cute.

When my SIL got married she wanted us to wear those oversized button downs but IMO they looked terrible. It just looked sloppy. The robes can be pretty but I feel like they can easily look messy or too revealing if not tied correctly.

I'm doing leggings and t-shirts with our wedding hashtag on them. It was actually my bridesmaids idea! And I love it because none of us are really robe people lol. Oh and p.s. leggings are pants if they're not see through
