Leap day wedding help!

Victoria, on September 18, 2018 at 2:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
We are getting married on 2/29/20...
I have no clue where to begin. We reserved the hall. Unfortunately, we pushed our Summer wedding back about 6 months so I am starting over. Everything from decor ideas to food.
What would be great colors?
My MOH turned into a nightmare at our engagement party so unfortunately I had to relieve her of her duties. So I am on my own for all this and my FH is no help. (Haha) I want to elope. Haha
So OVERWHELMED!
thanks for the help!

I'm sorry you had to push back your summer wedding, Victoria, but, at least in my opinion, a leap day wedding is much more memorable and fun! Who knows what could happen on a day that happens every four years!! Smiley laugh And don't worry, you've got plenty of time to plan. You could also elope and then throw a reception/party celebrating your marriage on leap day!

What are you and your FH's favorite colors? I know that some popular winter wedding colors are red, blue, and green. I personally would be a fan of pastel/lighter green as a color, I think it's hopeful of the spring coming. Smiley smile

Just take a breath, maybe take a walk, focus on something that isn't wedding related for a little while. Then come back when you feel less overwhelmed. And if you need any help, we're here to help!! Smiley smile

A year and a half before the wedding, your MOH had no duties to be relieved of...

Also, it’s only up to you and FH to plan your wedding.

Your right, except I ended up taking her out of our wedding. We were supposed to be getting married next August and pushed it back.

Since it's a leap day and only comes so often, you can tap into lucky colors and decorations or even celestial like meteor showers and comets. For that you can do blues, silvers, purples, really any color combination and have so many decorations that could fall into that category. I dont know if that idea may interest you, but if so there are many flowers that are in season in those colors in February! If all else fails, pick you and your FH favorite colors and find some color palettes online with those colors. You can always go the simple elegance with no real theme if you go that route and still have the gorgeous wedding that fits you! I'm sorry you had to go through all of that!

Same wedding date! We were going to do a roaring 20s themed wedding for 2020, but ended up being a little more than I wanted I'm trying to be budget friendly for the wedding party and mix matched sequin bridesmaids dresses were apparently too complicated (my MOH is my little sister and she was getting a little out of hand with trying to "make" the skirts and ended up somehow changing the attire totally because I was concerned about a color I wanted to be more prominent in the wedding) but I was beginning to stray away from the theme anyway. And yes I know it's my wedding and I should just put my foot down but it ended up being for the better. I had already bought some vintage moon and stars decor and ended up deciding on a celestial theme! The girls are wearing dark green and navy blue velvet dresses. I bought moon and star string lights and my save the dates have the star map for the date of our wedding. This ended up being much easier compared to my previous theme and I'm loving it. That being said play with ideas, even though FH isnt helping, just pass them by and see if he seems more interested in something. Look for themed invitations and pinterest boards. Theres unlimited options. You still have over a year. Use your event location to help decide as well. Ours is on the lake and the ceremony is outside on the deck so the stars are already there to help with out theme. Have you thought of anything since you posted this?
