"Late" Wedding Reception Opinions!

Diane, on August 19, 2013 at 10:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi Everybody,

I am new at this! I am getting married in November of 2014. The venue we are getting married at holds 2 completely separate weddings on the same night. The other wedding booked first so they chose their start time of 6pm. Being that we booked last they gave us a start time of 7pm for cocktail hour and with the Vianesse it will end at 12:30. Being that it's a Friday night I figured that the late start time wouldn't inconvenience those that had to work but now I'm second guessing it and feel that it might be too late of an end time for those that are traveling and not staying at the hotel. Am I over thinking this?! Thought?!

Thanks!

I think it's a very do-able time. I agree that the late start is probably better on a Friday night anyway. If a few have to leave early to travel I wouldn't make it your problem.

My wedding is a Saturday. My ceremony will start at 6, and my reception will start at 7. We are ending it at 10:30 though. I'm sure a few people aren't coming because of this but whatever. It got me down to the number I needed to be at so it worked in my favor...lol

I don't think it's too late. I've been to several wedding starting at 5 or 6 and lasted into the night-my favorite kind of weddings! We always booked a room so we didn't have to worry about getting home.

    I don't think it's too late honestly.
