Late night snack ideas??

Emily, on May 20, 2020 at 10:57 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 31

So my fiancé and I have been going back and forth about what kind of late night snack to have at our wedding! Our venue has a strict rule about food, if we bring in food it has to be through license caterer/vendor/restaurant. We have looked at a few places but we would like more options to look through. If anyone has any reccommendations please let me know! It is super appreciated! Thank you very much!!!! Smiley heart

We served a bunch of bar-like food at our afterparty — different kinds of sliders, different wings, quesadillas, mini corn dogs, onion rings, cheese display. Then we hired an old school ice cream truck that plays the music and everything. The ice cream man was even dressed in the outfit and everything. Lol.

That sounds amazing and so much fun! did you go through a separate company for the food or did you go through your venue?

Our venue is in Howell and we don't really have much of a set budget for the late night snack! Nothing over like 1500, but if it is good quality food and quantity for our guests and ourselves to enjoy we talk it through!

I had to go through my venue, but I worked with their chef on a special menu. They were offering us really weird things that wouldn’t work for drunk guests at an afterparty— bruschetta?! Salads?

They let me bring in the ice cream truck because I really wanted it. Haha
Where is your wedding and what’s your budget? I originally looked into getting food trucks.

We looked at an ice cream truck but they were booked! Our venue is Howell, MI and nothing over 1500 for our budget. That is awesome that your venue did all of that for you guys to have an amazing late night snack! it sounded amazing!

A food truck? Sundae bar, S’mores, popcorn, tacos, sliders, all come to mind as cheaper cost for a late night snack. Just remember, people will have already left so you may need less food.

Our venue has strict policy on only bringing in licensed vendors/commercial vendors. We were going to do our own s'more station but it is against their policy for us to bring in our own food. I can't really find many places that specialize in late night snacks online .

I googled. There’s a food truck call peace love & tacos in Brighton. I would call them to see how much they cost.

A food truck should pass the licensing requirement. You can find ones that serve any type of food. Just ask what they offer, how much the minimum charge is, and their availability.

Protein please! There’s plenty of sugar in booze. Mini hot dogs or sliders. A taco bar would be amazing but messy. Breakfast burritos cut in half.

For many people (but especially those with diabetes which is more common these days than you may think), carbs are ok but protein too. Just no more desserts because the last thing they ate was dessert then they keep drinking/dancing.

We had sliders, pretzels, dips and stuff like that at our after party. I’m a fan of savoury things as a late night snack because I‘be usually satisfied my sweet tooth with the cake or dessert. The venue we had the after party at had a food minimum to use their function space.

I love the idea of the Taco Bar! I do have a question. What time does your reception start/end to have a midnight snack? Mine is scheduled to end at 9pm. So do you bring out the snacks at 8pm or are these typically designed for receptions that end much later?
