Late Morning Wedding

BecomingMrsR, on December 15, 2015 at 9:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Anyone planning a wedding with a ceremony starting before noon? If so, what is your reception going to be? Brunch or lunch?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Brunch is great following a ceremony that starts before noon. There are some pretty substantial selections at brunch buffets. I love the idea of brunch and I'd be looking forward to it if I were one of your guests.

My ceremony is at 11:30 followed by a brunch reception from 12-4. It could have been a lunch reception but I requested brunch because I love breakfast!

I think with a ceremony starting before noon you could do either. Which foods do you enjoy more? Bacon???

Are you having a dessert table during your reception? Or are you sticking to traditional breakfast sweets? (donuts, sweet rolls, etc)

Brunch is great! I had a lunch wedding. We had our ceremony at 11:30 and took pictures from 12ish to 1ish. People started being served about 15 minutes before we were done with pictures so that we could get dinner immediately and other people didn't have to wait for us and have a bothersome line when it was time for us to get our food.

My ceremony was at 11:30 with lunch immediately following. We had food stations that represented our families backgrounds, Polish, Italian, and a good old southern sweet and savory chicken and waffle station. The food was a huge hit.

First wedding was at 10 am. However, by the time we finished the ceremony, drove to the reception location, and had a cocktail hour, it was time for lunch rather than brunch.

I volunteered to do makeup for a close friend as a wedding present. Then she told me her wedding is at 10:00am. We have to start at 7:00am (it will be her and 3 other gals who are paying for my services) and I live about 3mins away. I now wish I hadn't volunteered. Haha. Just something to think about!

I'm sure it will be a lovely wedding and I'm definitely looking forward to brunch and loooots of coffee.

Our ceremony is at 11:00 and brunch reception 12-4. The only logistical issues are having to do a first look for photos since there's no cocktail hour, and having to start hair and makeup at a ridiculous time in the morning. Other than that, I'm very excited about the brunch buffet. We are having an omelette station, French toast, sausage & peppers, chicken francese, a meat carving station, various pastas and salads. And other things I'm forgetting. For drinks, we have mimosas, bloody mary, bellinis, champagne, wine, beer. And in addition to our wedding cake, we will also have a dessert table with cannolis, Italian cookies and mini-cheesecakes.

We're doing a late-morning ceremony, followed by BBQ lunch. And lawn games (frisbee golf, croquet, etc) after.

Our ceremony is at 10:30am. Brunch buffet with open bar to follow with foods like eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries, cheese spread with crackers and fruit, then heartier things like a chicken pasta in tomato creme sauce, roast beef, etc. Lots of sweets too. Mouth is watering now.
