My girlfriend and I will be getting married 6/18/16 and like the procrastinators we are, it's 3 weeks away and haven't stated planning anything. Wanting to have 20 or so people and hosting in our backyard. At 10 am. Girlfriend wants to have a donut bar? It's going to be maybe an hour long for everything as we are leaving for our weekend getaway soon after it ends. Super casual and laid back. What should the ceremony be like? And after? Also should we hire a photographer or have a friend take casual pics for us? I've never been to a wedding so I'm so lost. I'm also worried about it being "awkward" since there's not many people we are inviting. ANY ideas or pics would be so appreciated! Also, we are 20 and 22 and are lesbians #lovewins so please don't comment at all if you are going to be hateful.

Having a really small number would probably make it more enjoyable, not awkward.

The only real thing I can recommend is to have a weather backup plan. Otherwise it sounds awesome!

Might I recommend just taking everyone out to a brunch after the ceremony. You're already having a small wedding, avoid the rentals and prep and clean up by just going to a nice restaurant for brunch. Mm, brunch.

Welcome to WW! All you really need is an officiant, which you do :-), and a few witnesses (which you do!). Sounds like you have the bases covered. As far as food/refreshments, I would recommend having some juice, coffee, perhaps a fruit plate to accompany the doughnut bar. Maybe mimosas too?!

On a sidenote, because I hope you keep posting, it gets a little old for us who have been on here awhile to be told "not to comment if we are going to be hateful." Funny enough, we get that line a lot from new brides. Please give us a chance. As long as you are reasonable, you should have no lack of support from the ladies and gents on here. :-)

And by reasonable, I mean, as long as you aren't calling us b*****s, meanies, twatwaffles, etc. we will be all good :-D

I kinda want ot be at your wedding, but you're getting married the same day as me so I can't crash. booooo! Go to a donut shop get a few dozen donuts, have them on platters, some fruit, coffee and champagne with oj and such. Simple is easy and a lot of fun.

Photography is super important to me so I'd say get one, check local college photography students even-my sister did that, they were good photos-not amazing, but she got what she wanted short notice AND affordable.

Also ignore Beatrice, I'm not sure what her problem is today, but take a deep breath let it out and have fun. oh, and post your BAM for all of us!

Get a photographer! You'll have these pictures the rest of your life and you'll want them to be beautiful and special. Plus, with such a small intimate wedding you'll really want all your guests to be just chill and relaxed. Id be super stressed if I was the one responsible for nice wedding photos.

(Don't kill me guys) but you can get a great priced photographer off of Facebook. I haven't used one for a wedding but I have for other photos and they've come out great! A lot of them have portfolios on their pages too!

Are you and your girlfriend crafty? You could make holders for the donut bar and other brunch goodies. I attached a photo of one I made it was 2$ I bought the candle holder and charger from dollar tree then got glues it. You could make a couple and glue them together to give it a look of having tiers to it.

ETA I also think I should be invited I'm a good time and I'll do the donut run lol. Also super crafty (:

Sorry on mobile posting one by one. Also you could do something cute like a hot cocoa bar as an alternative from just juice. Maybe you could do cocoa instead of coffee

I'm not sure if someone else mentioned this--but make sure you have enough seating for people! Congrats and welcome!
