Laser vision correction treatment before wedding

Sarah, on June 30, 2019 at 10:37 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 4

Hi, my marriage is fixed on August 4th. I have corrective glasses since childhood. But I never used corrective glasses for any function, I used to wear contact lenses. But last time, on my engagement day I wore contact lenses. But that day my eyes turned red and irritation occurred. I suddenly went to the ophthalmologist. He said that it is because I didn't change my lenses in proper time. As you know wedding day party will be long I won’t be able to change my lens on time. So my fiancee advised me to undergo laser vision correction treatments from an eye clinic in Boston. I am planning to do it. As the date is so near, I’m concerned about the surgery and it’s healing time. Is this time sufficient for complete recovery? Will it cause any side effect? Since I am running out of time is this treatment be successful? I want to know whether this is painful treatment or not?

Since there are many laser vision correction treatment, which one will be best suited for me?

I don't have much time to take rest. So I prefer the treatment which can be done in very short time with less side effect. Thanks!

I would caution against getting anything done to your eyes this close to the wedding. I was also contemplating lasik before the wedding (Aug 3rd) but I wanted the full few months to recover. FH went through it last year and yes he could see 20/20 the next day but th side effects took months to go away. He suffered from dry eyes, irritation, and night vision issues. Definitely talk to your ophthalmologist and tell them about the upcoming wedding before booking an appointment for vision correction.

My fiance had lasik surgery last August and the healing process wasn't that bad at all; I was quite surprised. However, I wouldn't recommend getting it so close to your wedding as you don't know how the surgery may affect you. My fiance also had a full weekend to relax and he before going back to work.

I wouldn’t do it as it does take time to heal, plus you have to be faithful about the eye drops they give you afterward otherwise you will probably get dry eye.

What do you mean you didn't change your lenses in time? did you wear them too long, and they dried up? I'm genuinely curious. I've worn glasses my entire life, but just started wearing contact lenses for the purpose of wearing them for my wedding. I figured, I have a whole year to get used to them. I'm wearing daily lenses.
