Las Vegas Wedding Venue

Victoria, on May 28, 2019 at 1:08 PM Posted in Nevada Planning 0 6
Hey Ladies!!! I plan to wed in Vegas in Sept 2020. I have about eight venues I am trying to decide between. However, I know for sure I want to bring an outside photographer. Has anyone had issues with falling in love with a venue that doesn’t allow outside vendors? I’ve heard horror stories, but don’t want to jump to conclusions. Also for out of town brides, do you feel you need a planner or is using this app sufficient?

    Congratulations on your engagement Victoria!!

Narrowing down your venue can be so tricky, especially when they are all similar enough with the packages they offer for weddings. If you are 100% sure that you want to hire your own photographer, perhaps you could contact the eight venues you are interested in and ask about their policies on outside vendors and then veto ones that do not allow this. It may be an easier way to cut your list of potential venues down.

If you are unsure about hiring a full-service wedding planner, maybe what could work for you is a day-of coordinator. A DOC will usually start their services from one month in advance of the wedding so that they are up to speed on all of your plans and how you want your day to go. They will then be present for your wedding day, making sure that everything goes to plan, organizing your vendors and making sure that your guests are when they are meant to be at the correct time.

If you are interested in looking into DOC’s further, you could check out the Las Vegas Wedding Planners and select the Day-Of Coordination filter on the left-hand side.

I had no problems planning from out of town. We got married at Mandalay Bay and they do not allow outside photographers so we used their photographer for the ceremony only and hired outside photographer for before and after photos on the strip it worked out great!! Also I loved our photographer (Marry Me in LV) he's fantastic and super reasonable!!!

I think most places you go too actually include a planner with your package too and they are super helpful!

Hi Ladies!!! I definitely am leaning towards planning it myself. I’ve done several large events for work and trust my ability to coordinate. Based on prices and such I’ve been leaning towards a DOC coordinator for sure. I wish more of them would list the prices for their packages but I will have to just engage them to see. The inner introvert in me loves to talk to ppl as little as possible. Thanks for the info on Mandalay Bay. I have already contracted my photographer. His work is BEYOND amazing and I cannot phantom him not being part of my full day. I am leaning towards paying the penalty fee at a venue or choosing a venue that does not already have a contracted photographer. This ultimately will help me narrow down venues which is a huge plus. Fiancé and I were able to narrow down our invitee list to under 70 last night which lifts a huge burden as well.

We’re planning a DW in Vegas for October 2020. Some of the hotels we looked at had packages that included a photographer (and almost all vendors). But we’re fine with it. Given that we don’t live in Vegas, it’s helpful not having to think about vetting vendors. I want this to be easy and fun.

I’m a former wedding planner, so I won’t be hiring one. My very good friend is also a former planner (we met in the industry) and she “hired” herself as my DOC. Lol! She’s really a guest and I don’t plan on using her in that capacity, but I know that she’ll jump up and handle anything if it arises that day.

So I’m biased and of course recommend you getting a wedding planner

Caesar's, Flamingo and (I think) Aria allows outside photography but you have to pay the vendor's fee. CP is $600 which is the venue I am strongly thinking of going with -- and some places wont allow it AT ALL. And they charge an arm and leg to buy the "rights" to your phots.
