Ladies with halo rings…what does your wedding band look like?

C&S, on March 1, 2015 at 10:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

FH and I are on the hunt for a wedding band that will go with my engagement ring. FH designed my ring himself and had it made, but now the man who made the ring has retired (damn!) so we can't go back to him for the wedding band.

I'm also allergic to white gold, so my ring is palladium, and I'm having such a hard time finding a wedding band that isn't white gold that goes with my ring. We're probably going to end up going to someone else to have the wedding band custom made…but I don't know what to ask for!

My diamond isn't raised very much, so there isn't room for the ring to "slide underneath" my engagement ring, like in picture #1. But I also don't love the look of picture #2, where the rings look so separated.

Anyone with a halo engagement ring that can show me what their band looks like?

My ring is pic #3. Help!

My wedding band matches the band of my engagement ring. I love it!

Yours will be tough. Could they make a band that just follows the edge of your ring like a Tetris piece? Lol. Hopefully you know what I mean. Mine slides underneath but not sure what else you can do.

You can see my ring in my pic. I don't have a band yet. My ring is raised, so I will be able to have a band under it like AprilBride. I don't like the look of your second picture. It looks weird with the band separate!!

@AprilBride Does it just slide right underneath your halo? I wish there was room under my halo for my wedding band!

The bottom of my halo rests right on my finger. No room for a band Smiley sad

Mine is kind of different....but not sure if it'll work if your ring isn't raised much...

It does slide underneath. I have seen wedding bands that follow the outline of the halo diamond on the engagement ring. Perhaps that would work?

My ring was also designed by my fiance so we thought we were going to have the wedding band custom made as well. But I knew exactly what I wanted. I was so happy they looked good together!

@AprilBride I'm starting to think something like this is my only option. They look gorgeous together but so bizarre when the band is just on it's own...

C&S- That's exactly what I was talking about. But I don't know when you would wear just the band so the awkwardness wouldn't be a concern. If it is, you can get a cheaper standard band to wear when you don't wear your E-ring.

Art Carved sells palladium rings. Good luck. I am sure you will find something that works.

My fiancé got it as a set. If yours is low, I suggest to find one that goes around the stone

Our jeweler special made the band to go around my halo heart!

@Crystal I love that! FH and I are now on the hunt for someone that can make me one like that. I wish our jeweler didn't retire. I'm worried my band isn't going to match my e-ring well enough...

I wonder if we can convince him to un-retire for one more ring Smiley smile lol

We're starting to shop for bands as well, and with my halo e-ring I'm thinking to do a style similar to your pick #1 and AprilBride's since mine is raised. I think you'll be able to find another great jeweler to make a perfect fit. I also second Pancake's idea of a separate, simple band if you really want something to wear solo.

I have a halo with my wedding band and I got mine custom made. It doesn't fit my engagement ring because if I wanted to wear my band alone i can do so. Getting a custom band can sometimes be cheaper than buying what they have in the window

If you get a band that goes around the stone, you can get a separate wedding band for days you only want to wear a wedding band. A lot of people do that.

@B-2-Z I never thought of that Idea! i may do that. i really love my e-ring but it gets caught on things, and its an oval with halo so i am going to have to get a curve band
