Lace doilies..

FMC, on January 14, 2012 at 2:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I'm looking online to pick some up to use them for decorating my mason jars. We don't have a plethora of thrift / antique stores here so I'm searching on the net. Do you ladies have any suggestions? I don't want to pay a ton. Thanks

Would a lace table cloth or curtains work and just cut it up?

    Quantity? Budget?

I'm haven't really thought of a budget but I don't even know how they will turn out so I don't want to spend a bunch. I found some on etsy for 8 dollars plus shipping. I don't know if I want to throw away that. Ugh...Do you think a curtain would work?

Maybe if it had the round pattern you are looking for. See if the dollar tree or dollar general has anything for a trial...

    but.....These are pretty... 4 inch... 16 for $28 - $1.75 per

Oh those are cute. Here's a question that I just thought of. What size? I have the quart size mason jars...they weren't specific with size on the blog....

Get a ruller out silly..... how wide is your jar? How far do YOU want the doily to wrap around? Cut some paper and hold it up.

Ugh..I'm so not a diy bride..don't know why I try. They are 4 inches across and 7 inches high. I'm thinking the 6 inches would be good. I found some at Joanns to try.

Oh wow! did you paint those? I don't think I've ever seen red ones!

You might just get a roll of lace and wrap it around as well.. it would be slightly easier and I think less expensive, but equally pretty Smiley winking

I did ..I used a stained glass spray paint I found at Hobby Lobby. That may be a good idea. I just fell in love with the blog but like I said so not a good DIY bride. Thanks Jen for the good idea!!

Jen is right, the look of lace wrapped around jars is really pretty also. If you have a lot to decorate, you can mix up the look by doing both.

Wonder how the lace may look on the red ones? Or just leave them like without?
