Labels on wedding invitations

Alvie, on May 10, 2018 at 6:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I have my envelopes already before I got my invites printed. Is it ok to use mailing labels instead?

I am planning to use a matte clear address label for the guest address and then stamp the return address on the other side. Any thoughts?

It's what I'll likely do, but my wedding is informal. My thought on all parts of the invitations is how it tells people to dress and what to expect as far as formality goes.
I think labels like that look good, though. I use them on Christmas cards and other types of invites.

I think it's fine. You have to do what works for you.

If you will do it, Onlinelabels have nice labels. I liked the clear matte one. You can order samples for free.

Thank you! My future mom-in-law is kind of big in terms of etiquette so I need some inputs.

The envelope will be thrown in the trash within 5 minutes. Do not waste money or feel bad about not wasting money on printed/embossed addresses on envelopes. I'm printing the address onto my envelope using my own printer because its free and less work than labels for me, but I will absolutely be putting labels on the RSVP envelope.

You can certainly use the clear Avery labels. If you want a more formal look, it is not hard to print the addresses directly on to the envelopes yourself. FH and I did that with a few last minute ones that we didn't have done before placing our order with the printer. Either way, I think you'll be fine!
