Kleinfeld Appt When Kleinfeld is out of Budget

I'm going up to NYC for a weekend trip for my parents to meet my fiancé's mom. This will be at the end of April. I want to go dress shopping with my mom that weekend. I watch Say Yes to the Dress and was wondering if it's worth it - for the experience - to go to Kleinfeld, even though my budget for my dress is under $1K, but they make it clear that dresses there start at $2K? Appointments need to be booked in advanced, so I booked a slot in case I decide to go for it anyway. What do you guys think, should I spend the time with my mom looking at dresses I can't afford or should we go somewhere else in the city where I might be able to afford the dresses I look at?

Girl... I wouldnt want to be disappointed after i fell in love with a dress i cant afford... maybe just keep watching the show instead?

If you fall in love with a dress outside of your budget what will you do? Go over your budget or leave upset and compare every other dress you try on to the one that you can’t afford. I say don’t do it.

How wonderful!! I'm happy you had a great time and had an expert to guide you through picking out a dress. Hopefully your parents had fun too
I am going to do the same thing that you did - we're planning a weekend in October. Thanks for posting about it, I never would have known about the sample studio without this post and the comments.
What's your street size, if you don't mind me asking? I couldn't find anything about what size the sample dresses will be, I don't want to plan my whole trip around a place where I won't find anything

Took my oldest daughter to Kleinfeld’s for wedding dress shopping. We all watch the show and thought it would be fun. It was horrible! So crowded we couldn’t even sit in the lobby, and it’s like a cattle call. Loud, fast paced. My daughter ended up getting a migraine from all the commotion so we left without buying anything. On the upside, we saw Shay, Haley Paige, and we’ve seen our consultant on TV a few times but not regularly. We were disappointed because it didn’t seem like the show at all.

I 100% agree, and thank you for saying it. You set the consultant up for failure by going to shop where there are slim-none options for you, and thus you're creating a bad experience for yourself. You can't go into Chanel and expect the prices to be target.
