Hi everyone, this is my first post and I'm looking for some opinions/advice. We are getting married in France (that's where we will be living at the time) - but I'm from Canada and he's from Ireland. Most of our family will be travelling and a lot of the Irish family in particular have small children. Our concern is not about the crying or fussy kids, but more that we're afraid some parents won't (be able to) come if their kids aren't welcome too. Is there a way to politely encourage people to make other arrangements (i.e. leave kids at home with other set of grandparents) without being ambiguous about whether they're invited at all? It's not as simple as getting a sitter for the night - these people will be traveling from different countries to be there. Has anyone ever been in this situation? We would love for kids to be there but also need to keep the numbers down - Irish families are so big! Any advice/help greatly appreciated, thank you! -SL
