Keyboard at wedding

Sounds good to me. Easier to lug around than a piano, doesn't need a lot of room, and sounds great! (as long as the guy's good! lol)

I am an officiant with a music background. Piano is my favorite instrument & I have a piano along with 2 keyboards. Yes, keyboards can sound like a real piano especially if they have 88 weighted keys without built in speakers. Built in speakers can make things sound canned!Considering that this is for a cocktail hour I would only hire someone that had a Korg Triton Studio or better. Piano can really drag after a while & you just might find people walking away from the dancing floor. You might want something that has some modern & traditional tones so if desired you can spice up the evening! With a Korg Triton Studio Keyboard you can also play CD's of your choice without having to have additional equipment to do so! Hope this helps. I definitely do not think it's tacky. If it sounds almost exactly the same, then it's probably way easier on the musician, and way easier on your wallet than a real piano. Good idea!

Today's keyboards sound great especially if you run it through your DJ's sound system.
