Skipping as being the youngest all of my friends and family are older and I hardly kiss my FH in front of them for respect purposes so he will not be going up my dress

We’re skippingI.t! We want to spend as much time getting tipsy, dancing and all turned on for him to really go up my dress later! NOT IN FRONT OF MY GRANDMA AND OTHER SENIORS THERE

If you skip the garter toss.... does that mean you should skip the bouquet toss too?? I feel weird if i skip one and do the other because don't they go hand in hand??

As a groom, we did a bouquet toss, but no garter toss. As a wedding DJ, my observation is that more and more couples are skipping the tosses altogether. Of those that keep them, it seems about 50/50 whether they do both, or just the bouquet toss only. (And you never see anyone doing just the garter toss.)

If you don't have a preference one way or the other, the timeline might make up your mind. At any reception, the cocktail hour, dinner and "usual formalities" (intros, first dance, parent dances, toasts) often total at least two hours, sometimes 2½ and pushing 3. So, if you have a 4-hour reception, that leaves less than 2 hours for "open dancing." Doing tosses not only disrupts the dance floor momentum, but it also takes about as much time as 2 or 3 songs would have taken.

Not necessarily. As a wedding DJ, many of my couples have done bouquet toss only. That's how we did it at my own wedding, too. It's perfectly acceptable.

Skip! We are the last of our friends to get married- so no singles to grow it to and I’d rather be dancing than take everyone’s attention for a raunchy tradition

Keep! It’s fun! Especially the garter toss because anything goes during that.
