This week we're playing " keep or skip " with popular wedding traditions! ✔️

The traditions around parents blessings and "being given away" have definitely fallen out of favor as weddings (thankfully!) become more modern, but some people still really want that moment with their dad walking down the aisle! What are you doing? Are you keeping or skipping (or modernizing) this ceremony tradition?

I would like him to, but our relationship is really rocky and just keeps getting worse. I'm not sure that we're even going to be in contact in a year.

KEEPING! I would never think of having my wedding day without my stepdad walking me down the aisle! It is just too special for me.

I am halfway keeping this tradition. I come from parents who are divorced and I was raised by my mother and my father wasn’t in the picture muchbuntil I became an adult. So when I am being escorted down the isle it will be with both of my parents.

I wasn’t going to keep this since it is my second marriage. I recently found out how important it was to my dad so I am keeping it.

Oh, this one brought a tear to my eye. I'd do anything for my Dad to be able to walk me down the aisle, but he passed away 18 years ago. I am Lucky to have a wonderful son who will walk me down the aisle though. I love tradition, but sometimes they bring up sad feelings when you can't carry them out how you originally should

Keep. Why would he not. He raised you well depending on your relationship with your father it is your choice to keep or skip.

Unfortunately I will be skipping this (not by choice). My dad is ill, so to preserve his on I will be having my neice walk me down the aisle instead of another man.

We’re keeping the father daughter dance. In my case I have to have two father daughter dances with my actual father and my stepfather. I have great relationships with both and it would mean the world to them to keep this tradition. And also the fact that I am my actual fathers last child to be getting married I want the special moment with him.

I'd keep it, but since my father has passed away I have to skip it. But I may have my son do it in my dad's place

Keeping- it means so much to my Dad that I couldn't not! I kind of look at it as a nice way to honor my dad and our relationship, rather than being "given away" (although I know that is the origination of it haha).

My dad passed away in 2006 - so I will be asking my big brother to walk me down the aisle.
