Keds for beach wedding. Is it weird?

Serena, on December 31, 2019 at 12:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
Hello Everyone!

So I've been obsessed with Keds, the Champions, ever since I discovered them here on WW. Over the weekend while my fiance and I were visiting Rockefeller, he surprised me by taking me to Kate Spades to buy me those Keds! Anyways, we're having a beach wedding in May and although I already bought wedges, I decided against them for the Keds. We are having our first dance on the beach, then leaving the ceremony on his Dirtbike. Reception is on a sailboat for a sunset cruise. I feel a sneaker type shoe is more practical for what we're doing, but is it weird having sneakers on the beach? Anyone with any experience? Should I wear the wedges for the beach and sneakers for the sail?
I wore barefoot sandals during our engagement photos on the same beach. It was terrible. I had so many seashells stabbing my feet lol.

Nothing about any wedding is weird. If keds are what you want then you should go for it. I would say maybe wear both to the beach different days and see which feel better for the actual ceremony. If you get sand in the keds or sandy toes from the wedges that could help you decide. Ultimately you want to feel like the best most comfortable you!

Having two pairs of shoes to change out of amidst a wedding- your wedding nonetheless -would be too much for me personally. I think its really charming when people's weddings showcase who they are rather than just being this pristine thing, so it all sounds really cool to me. Like, i know style wise thats weird and not kosher, but thats kind of the point if you ask me, since its what you really want

I probably wouldn’t wear the wedges on the beach unless there’s a solid floor being placed where you’re walking/dancing.
I think the Keds are fine.

I think the Keds would be cute. I don’t think wedges will be good on the beach. I got married on the beach in my bare feet and then put shoes on for my reception because it’s very hard to walk in the sand.
