Karaoke Song Help!

Maricle2Be, on August 24, 2016 at 3:39 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 34

We are having karaoke at our wedding, and I'm struggling to come up with a list of must have songs for it, any suggestions?

Just out of curiosity, how did you decide to do this? Are most of your guests karaoke lovers?

There are a lot of karaoke lovers. My close friends and family are all super excited about it

The DJ will already have a lot of options, but I want to make sure I get any good karaoke for wedding songs

Please reconsider its a wedding not a talent show.

Not all of your guests will want to listen to drunk Auntie Bettys horrid take on " I will always love you."

I love karaoke but find this terrifying...

Is it going to be in the main reception space or is it going to be a side activity (like a photo booth) in a separate area?

To be clear, I'm not asking anyone's opinion about karaoke at weddings. Just for song recommendations if they have any

To be clear, you posted on a public forum where people give their advice/opinion.

You don't get the cherry pick what responses you want. Sorry.

Sorry, you don't really get to dictate how users respond on a public forum.

    You do you, good luck!

Wasn't trying to dictate. Just saying that I'm not changing my mind, so you might as well not try and tell me it's a bad idea. If you want to waste your time though, you do you

I don't understand what a must have song list would look like for karaoke. Isn't the point that the person who gets up and sings gets to pick whatever song they want to sing that's available in the DJ's catalogue? Are you trying to restrict what songs your guests can choose to sing?

Karaoke might not be for everyone but I assume you know your crowd.

I imagine your karaoke machine/DJ will have these, but Bohemian Rhapsody and Ice Ice Baby are my go-tos.

@bluehenbride no, just trying to get some extra options on top of the list the DJ has. He said if we wanted to add any to let him know, so I was seeing if anyone had suggestions

@holly definitely have to have bohemian rhapsody. And yes, my guests are huge karaoke fans

Come rain or come shine by Billy Holiday is always a good one. And Sunrise Sunset.

I get asked to sing the theme to ice castles a lot and it's a good karaoke song too!

My go-to is Mr. Jones by Counting Crows.

My go to is "like a virgin" but anything journey or Madonna...gosh I feel old

I still think it's weird to karaoke at wedding but hey whatever float your boat!

Can you meet with your KJ to see what he has?

Most KJs (like me) have just about anything you can think of, except some random kind of out there songs.

My go to songs at karaoke are "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane (HAS to be the Sound Choice version though...these things are important) and "No Diggity" by PostModern Jukebox.

    Smiley laugh

Love will keep us together- Captain and Tenneil

Nobody does it better- Carly Simon

    Tiny Dancer- Elton John

Those are some of my favorites but I am going to guess your DJ will already have them.

Maybe this is something you can put on your RSVP cards... some people do "what song will get you up and dancing." you could do "what song are you DYING to sing" or something like that? this way your guests get input too.

    I love white rabbit!

I'm a karaoke diva so I would love a karaoke reception.

I like anything by Adele or Nora Jones too.
