Just told my mother she didnt need to come...

Shes constantly making snarky comments about my fh been jerky anytime we've been around her. The very first time he spent the night SLEEPING she barged into my dang room saying she heard me crying! I was laughing. He got so fed up with it that he left a 3 am. I dont work i dont have a license im okay with that hes okay with thag and when i told her that shes like oh and ur still getting married? N then send anger/crying face -_- so i told her if she wanted to be jerky she didnt need to be there and i didnt need her attitude. Ugh im done i dont even want to do my bridal shower anymore cuz its going to be at my gmas house that my mother lives at.

Was she ever married?

Has she ever lived on her own?

Never married lived with my dad for (15?) Years b4 he abandoned the family. N yes she lives with grandma and her brother and occasionally my uncles son. I honestly think shes just mad that she doesnt have me under her thumb anymore i was the last one to leave the house being middle child.

Your mom is probably only trying to be protective, but she seems to be going about it the wrong way. Definitely stand your ground and tell her you're open to talk, meet, etc. once she's willing to do so with an open heart!

She actually told me last night after that b.s that she hadnt planned on coming anyway. Which i wish she would have told me 3 days earlier when i showed her some ideas for mob dress. But whatever, one less mouth to feed/house to go to for holidays

It sounds like she’s looking out for you, but not doing it in the best manner. I would highly discourage someone from getting married in our society, if they didn’t work nor have a license. That would be okay if we were living in Saudi Arabia due to culture differences.

He works enough to cover our bills so no need for a job we'll be starting on kids after the wedding so i dont want to work n right now theres no need for me to have a license i hate driving. ill get one when we have kids and shes aware of all this. shes always been like this even with friends. its her way of trying to keep me under her thumb

Sorry you are going through this and I understand your frustration but she is your mom maybe have a conversation with her about your feelings and if it doesn't go well then stand your ground as I'm quite sure your FH wouldn't be happy to have her there being negative.
