June wedding postponing?

Molly, on April 2, 2020 at 10:34 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Y’all.. I’m nervous.
My wedding is planned for June 13th and I’m seeing so many people start to postpone and cancel weddings because of COVID... are any other June brides postponing or cancelling? I don’t know what to do... I’ve spent the last year planning and perfecting this wedding..

June bride here, I am still planning and going through with my wedding but I have a backup date in place just in case I am unable to have our wedding. It is super heartbreaking but it is best to get a backup date before venues are filled up.

I agree that you should have a backup plan. Unfortunately, things are looking a little iffy for June. Not sure which part of the country you live in, but I think in general if every follows the strict social distancing rules, we are probably looking at getting back to a "new normal" by mid June.

Praying it will be sooner though, I hope you can go through with your wedding by then.

Hi! I was also a June 13th bride! Here in Mass they just extended the stay at home order until May 4th so i unfortunately did end up postponing till August. I guess it depends where you live, but I would at least reach out to your venue for a back up date! Good luck!

We have a plan B kinda figured out. As of right now Oregon is until April 30th. It’s so stressful!

I sent an email to my venue today.. we are talking about eloping on our anniversary on August instead and then doing a ceremony and reception next year. It’s just so heartbreaking to do all this for a year and have to change everything.

So just a little bit of hope for you June brides. But on the news this morning, Dr. Fauci did state that "things should be business as normal" in early June. What that means could be up for interpretation, because we could have a new normal. But still it's nice to hear that, considering the current state of things. I know things change daily, even hourly lately. I found it to be encouraging though! Good luck to you ladies.

My daughter is a June bride from MA also. Just not sure what to do. The venue just reached out to us and we held our breath while opening the email and it was just to say the other bride at the venue the same day wanted to know if we were going to use something at the venue.

SO things are still on. Just don't know when to send the invites at this point.

June 14th bride here. We already sent out invites but unfortunately it's looking like June is cutting it close. At this point we feel like a lot of our out of town guests are not going to be comfortable traveling by then. We're looking at a backup date end of August and need to make the decision soon before we lose the date. I've been trying to stay optimistic but now feeling like the right thing to do is push and give ourselves a little more time and hope things lighten up.

I understand! The hardest part is the fact that my fiancé and I are the ones traveling back home to Oregon for the wedding on my summer break. Then I start teaching again in early August. I’m so bummed. I’ll probably have to postpone by a whole year..
