June wedding...postpone or not??? Help!

Dalymar, on April 2, 2020 at 12:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I am calling out all my brides to be or groom to be or anyone whos getting married in June 2020! I am getting married on June 27th, 2020 in Puerto Rico. I have been getting a call from my Venue guy wanting me to postpone to July 26th. (I personally don't want to because of it too close to August--where kids and teachers are preparing to go back to school) So, I am leaving the same date as I originally plan...I want to know what are YOU guys doing for your June wedding? I honestly do not know what am I doing! I felt it should be okay since Virus does not like heat and weather is warming up...but once again I am not sure if I should postpone or what.

I am in the same boat and I am not sure what to do. Mine is June 22nd in Miami and right now the venue will not let us postpone without a penalty. Any thoughts from some other June brides would be very appreciated!!

I postponed my June 12th wedding. I live in the Bay Area, and we are on stay at home orders until May 1st. Even if things cleared up by June, many people are jobless in these times so I dont want to put an added expense on anyone. People are being hit hard financially. Also, I found it better to postpone to allieviate the stress of not knowing what will happen by June.

I had a March 20, 2020, wedding date. I initially rescheduled for June 27th however, I have issues with how everything is going and do not want people traveling or gathering with the cloud of this over them. I rescheduled to October. I think you should explore other dates. The stress of this is a lot and honestly once I switched my dates a lot was taken off of my shoulders. I am sure that most vendors are willing to work with you. Follow your gut and trust yourself.

June 14 here, we were going to postpone and were in talks with uor venue. As soon as we said we wanted to move forward with postponing they hit us with a 5000 dollar cancelation fee. Right now we have no choice but to wait to may to see how things are to avoid cancellation fee. At this point im ready to start looking for a new venue. Im disgusted with how they are more concerned over money than this pandemic.

I would say have a back up plan. But right now it's to soon to say that June will not work. Most venues are waiting on the Governor's to make the final call.

I postponed my June 27 to August 7th... Some places are peaking in late May. I need fittings and such, to pick up tuxes, etc. So August it is!!
