June Wedding in Vegas?

Jillian, on February 15, 2016 at 7:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Hi! I'm Jillian and new to these boards Smiley smile We got engaged in December and in the very early stages of planning! We love Las Vegas and are thinking of doing a destination wedding there (we live in San Diego). We would love to do an outdoor wedding somewhere nice like Mirage or Bellagio, but are wondering if it would be crazy to do it in june. In June 2017, our 6 year anniversary lands on a Saturday which would be perfect! Don't know if it's too much to ask our guests to be out and about in Vegas summer weather though. Why are your thoughts?

Welcome and congrats! Yeah, I'm thinking an outdoor wedding in Vegas in June is pretty inconsiderate to your guests. Way too hot.

OMG. That would be miserable to be outdoors in Vegas, in June. Why not have an indoor wedding?

We are getting married in November in Vegas! It's so hot in the summer. You could still do a Vegas wedding just move it inside. Ps- we are going to Ceasars. They have the best all inclusive packages. We upgraded to the Ceasars package Smiley smile good luck!

My MOH got married in Vegas in early July (which is close enough to June); she did an indoor ceremony and reception, but at the chapel they got married at, we had to stand outside in the blistering heat while the bride and groom took pictures. It was hot and miserable. Please be considerate of your guests and don't have outdoors! I can't imagine having to sit outside longer than hour.

Thank you everybody! We will have to look more into indoor venues, or more likely will move to April or May! I have heard that April is pretty windy and May might still be pretty warm too? Sorry, still trying to figure this out!

It will be super hot unless it's after sunset.

I've been to Indoor vegas wedding in June and that was hard enough. It all worked out fine, but even for the indoor wedding the wedding clothes has to be selected with temperatures expecting to be over 100. It was 107 degrees. That's not hot, that's potentially dangerous for most people.

I think it's ok to have the vegas wedding in June, but I do think that everything is going to need to be planned for inside.

You could still get some pictures outside, but I can't see it being possible for everyone to be out in that heat.

I am also getting married in Las Vegas and live in Southern California, my wedding is in August and I too wanted an outside wedding but decided against it due to the heat.

May I ask why June? Are you set on that month or can you change it? I heard October is beautiful there.

If keeping your date is important (congrats btw date twin!), consider doing it indoors. Also keep in mind your guests, some people (myself included) don't do well in hot climates. I've never been to Vegas, but it sounds awful in the summer!

I was just in San Diego, and wonder why don't you get married there? It's beautiful and the weather is perfect. Then, you can honeymoon in Las Vegas- see shows, gamble, party...

Thanks for all your feedback everyone! That all definitely convinced me to rule out June! Now its either April/May we have to decide on, since my fiance doesnt want October. And for those asking about why Vegas instead of San Diego, we're looking there too, just trying to find one that doesn't feel so "been there done that" Smiley smile

So funny, I live in Vegas and we are looking into getting married in San Diego! I asked FH about maybe getting married here and he said we would have to change the date due to the heat!

I wanted to do a Vegas wedding but the prices I was getting was outrageous but look at indoor, one I really love was the chapel in the clouds at stratosphere and you can do twilight dining which gives you the view of strip at night then when ur reception is over people will be ready for the strip fun! Congrats n good luck

I love Vegas. We looked at doing ours there. The platinum hotel (right off of the strip, only a 5 min cab ride) has some great indoor/outdoor options. I think if you did a late evening ceremony at somewhere like that which had the option of coming inside, you'd be fine.
