June brides, anyone canceling?

June brides, how are you holding up? Canceling, postponing, or holding on? I’m holding on and praying things turn for the better. I just financially can’t afford to postpone or cancel.

My wedding is on June 6. I am still holding on anything can happen ! And I totally feel the same way! I don’t even want to think about postpone a wedding that I been planning for over a year. I honestly think things will be better by then. They eventually will with the shutdowns.

Hi Sakinna. I'm from the metro detroit area in macomb county. Our wedding is May 30. We're thinking of postponing and doing a small ceremony this year and celebrating our one year next year with the reception!

Hi! 👋 June 8th over here and I’m stressing like crazy and feel so guilty about it. A part of me thinks that a wedding should be the last thing on my mind when the world is in complete chaos but the other part of me so so frustrated and upset. I feel so torn about the situation. I’m waiting it out and hoping for the best but I have a feeling we will have to postpone. 😭

Hi Sara. We are in the Macomb county area too but we really wanted to do the 3 hour drive to South Haven for the beach on Lake Michigan. As of now, there’s only 3 people who have tested positive out there but I am at the mercy of what they decide. Most of our guests are under 50 but we have one guest who is pregnant. Were you planning for ceremony and reception in the Macomb area? I think if we plan a reception a year later that might work for us too.

Yes both in Macomb county. I wanted a smaller wedding to begin with for our ceremony. We're working with our vendors to get everything moved to next year for us Smiley smile

I am supposed to be getting married 6/6 but my fiancé and I are close to postponing. We are supposed to have family flying/driving into town from Canada and at this point I would feel terrible making them buy flights and make plans during this time. It is breaking my heart to think about postponing but I don’t know what else to do.

I'm just holding on and hoping for the best I've put in too much time, effort, and money to cancel and I've been planning for over a year and I am DONE waiting. Worst case scenario, we'll get married in a civil ceremony and have a reception another time 🤷‍♀️
I'm doing my best to stay calm and take it one day at a time.

That's what we did Shannon ... I kept my day of March 20th when my city had just announced np gathering of more than 10 worked for us because our wedding ceremony was already set to 12 people which was our most immediate family members very intimate gathering , but we did postpone our reception we didn't lose any money since our vendor was very understanding

My entire family is OOT, mom included. From England, Canada, Bermuda, NY, and Florida all traveling to Texas. I’m positive they have already purchased their tickets. They have been excited for this wedding since the engagement was announced. I’m holding on because I rather the venue tell me we can’t have the wedding than me give up on everything I worked so hard to complete. Plus I would kick myself if things got better and we started moving around again my mid May.

Yeah my fam has not all bought their tickets yet. It’s a hard decision to to have to make and we are going to hold off a bit before we decide but the limbo is hard. My state is not expecting the cases to peak until May so I imagine that the uncertainty will continue for awhile. If your fam bought their tickets and are planning on coming, it makes sense to wait out your venue’s decision! I hope all goes well for you. I am sure (like me) you never imagined to be planning your wedding under these circumstances.
