June brides, anyone canceling?

June brides, how are you holding up? Canceling, postponing, or holding on? I’m holding on and praying things turn for the better. I just financially can’t afford to postpone or cancel.

    1) you can’t empathize with someone and then retract and call them callous in the same sentence.

    2) I didn’t assume, that’s why I said “you probably... and then named scenarios”
    3) Thank you.
I’m moving on from your comments. No hard feelings. Have a blessed day.

My Hair trail and my first dress fitting have been postponed due to Connecticut closing all non-essential businesses until the end of April. Does anyone know if a month is still enough time to plan/book everything before June 6th? If not, I will definitely have to postpone our wedding, probably for a year. My fiance and I have decided to wait until the first of April to make the call but the past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of "should we or shouldn't we." Agh! The emails, phone calls, and money! what a pain this will be.

I have thought about having a city hall ceremony and maybe having a Facebook live stream of the event to our friends and family. Then have the actual celebration in a year.

Let it out girl! This is the forum to do it on! Anyone says anything negative to you on my post will be dealt with!

A month is pushing it but it will be doable. Business will be aching for the chance to rebuild for the time they loss. I think we will have to except that we won't have personal experiences when it comes to fittings, hair appointments or anything bridal, as we are not alone.

Business might be double booked and we could be sharing spaces with other brides. I pushed my second fitting that was supposed to happen tomorrow to April 24th. They asked if it was okay if we had three to four brides in the pinning area for alterations. There is usually 1 other bride on the pedestal. Meaning, everyone and their momma will be rushing to get their dress fitted.

I too have thought about postponing the reception, but what if I'm pregnant??? My dress might not fit lol.... I know I know, I'm already there! LOL

Keep your head up sis! We will get through this!

    Nurse here!

Our date is June 26. I'm not moving anything as of yet (and don't forsee the need to, but could be wrong). I think we will have a better picture of how the curve is trending in the next two weeks.

But, until theres a better picture of what's happening- personally i recommend not rescheduling yet. I see a lot of people rescheduling to fall from summer because they're panicking- the prediction is that the virus will simmer down in the summer and then spike again in the fall, so I would HIGHLY suggest not being reactive in this manner and instead just give it some time to see how this is going to trend.

Another tip: don't pay any vendors until the last possible deadline and review all of your contracts now so that you can have a game plan ready to go if you are forced to cancel.

Personally, my back up plan is to get married on our original date regardless and have a reception at a later time if that's what i'm forced into. In that situation I would most likely pick a friday or sunday that is available in maybe late july/august (most saturdays are booked already and picking less common days would probably mean most of your vendors could move to those dates- and quite frankly if a guest has an issue with it not being on a Saturday then they are not welcome at my wedding lol).

That last part is basically how I feel about everything right now! LOL We have the same back plan, let's hope we don't have to use it.

If I have to postpone it will definitely be 2021. My venue books a year in advance under normal circumstances.

I'm holding on, but also working with vendors to come up with a backup plan in the event that we do have to postpone. June is such a tough month to predict for this! I pray every night before I go to sleep for our wedding to work out as originally planned! So much anticipation only to get a huge bump in the road is so heartbreaking!

Same here! Holding out until May to make a decision. I also cannot afford to postpone or cancel the wedding. I made sure I emailed all my vendors in case about their policy about postponing or cancelling the wedding. Legally they wouldn't be open any way due to the limitations of capacity. BUT GIRLLLLLLLL. It's stressful! Hang in there! Us June girls will be okay, I have faith that this will blow over in the next month. Smiley heart June 13th bride
