June 5th Wedding.

Maria, on April 9, 2020 at 6:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

I have officially postponed my June wedding to August 6th. I am not happy but I feel lucky it's only an extra 2 months and not a whole year! AND my future mother-in-law is giving us such a hard time because it's now on a Thursday night. I think people will still come, she doesn't. I think people will understand that this isn't our fault and will still come. It was either August or November! November would be ridiculous with our colors and flowers, lol. Anyone else having difficulty with all of this?

Your FMIL will come to understand that this isn't anyone's fault and that your really had no choice, but to reschedule the wedding, I also think that your guests will make an effort to come if they want to be there. As for me, I was extremely bummed that I wasn't able to sign for my venue and have a proper walk-through, since my city decided to put up a shelter in place the week of. Instead, I ended up having to read and sign venue contracts, without having a proper walk-through like I wanted (at least I saw the outside), but I'm just so happy that I finally have a venue booked for my Feb. wedding.

Our wedding is June 7th and I'm waiting to postpone as long as I can. I've got a back up plan for November. Colors will likely need changing but my future mother in law was upset that we picked a date "so far out" even asked us to consider a different venue which would be a loss of money.

Hi Maria!! I'm so glad you were able to reschedule for such a quick date!! Smiley heart

I would try your absolute hardest to just ignore your FMIL's comments - they are really unhelpful in this crazy and stressful time! I 1000% believe that everyone's friends and family will be super supportive of rescheduled plans and timelines - they'll just be so happy to finally celebrate with you!

My mother in law told us to cancel instead of postpone. She didn't seem to understand that we would lose all of that money. 🙄 if we chose November we wouldn't be able to change our colors. Dresses are already bought and altered.
