Anyone nervous about restrictions still being in place? I talked to my event planner last week and I guess I wasn’t as aware of ALL of the restrictions that are being placed on weddings in my state. I figured masks and 6 feet less at tables etc. but now they’re saying cocktail hour has to be seated.... We’re going to be outside in a tent. No passed hors d'oeuvres. Everyone has to remain seated the whole time unless bathroom. No dancing. I was aware of the no dancing restrictions in other states but didn’t realize my state is included in that. I’m unsure what to even do at this point. No cake cutting. No lawn games. I feel like I’m better off just getting eloped.

OK, so I was thinking of the previous week what she said. So yeah, I guess the restrictions are getting slammed down again. I can’t even keep up with all of these changes. This is just all a big disaster

    Hi!
We decided on the same thing. In fact, told my parents this past weekend. They were sad. We will have a small ceremony with immediate family and make it official. We really want 6.13.21 to be our date. But our big reception will be moved to 6.12.22. I just can't imagine a wedding without dancing or without all my family and friends that live around the country and abroad there. We're now in the process of meeting with all our vendors and trying to get deposits back, or asking if we can push it back. We were waiting for the election to make a final decision. And feel this is for best. We live in CA and wedding is in Los Angeles.

I’m getting married in June 2021! My biggest concern is the amount of guests i’ll be able to have. Luckily I’m having a backyard wedding so I won’t have strict rules from the venue. If I can’t have the number of guests I would like at the wedding, I might just have like a reception/bbq sort of thing later in the summer so I can celebrate with more people

I'm in GA and have been conversing with my planner on a regular basis. We are supposed to be inside the American Legion but I am now considering a short ceremony indoors and reception moved to the outside pavilion. I am going to purchase face shields for the wedding party and remain hopeful that many of these restrictions will be minimal or completely gone by June 2021. We shall see...

Hi there, I’m June 2021 also. We already postponed the wedding once. The original date was September 2020 but that was definitely not happening because of Covid. My venue is a high end steak and sushi restaurant in Smithtown New York and they have not reached out to me at all. I am reading in the news that so many Long Island wedding venues have been fined and lost their liquor licenses for having weddings and parties over 50 people. My minimum is 90 guests. Either way I’m paying for 90. My invitation list is over 160 people. They haven’t even told me to cut the list. I think a bride has the right to know how many people they can invite and what all the restrictions are for the wedding several months in advance. I’m hearing from some that there’s no dancing and cocktail hour is seated. At the price I’m paying it’s hardly worth it. I understand the world is in crisis right now but I can’t even find any review sites or any chats on the social media sites about brides having weddings there. It’s really odd. Do I even pay for a DJ if there’s no dancing? I’m so late on reserving things and putting deposits down because I don’t want to lose the money. I’m also stressing because I have a lot of family out of state. Are they going to want to travel to New York? Are they even allowed to travel to New York? I’m sure you’ve guessed it by now at my venue is insignia steakhouse in Smithtown New York. It’s a wonderful place. And we love eating there and have been to a 50th surprise party there. They do a fantastic job. It’s not their fault this is happening but I feel like I need some communication from them. It might be time to make an appointment. If anyone is experiencing the same thing please reply. I wish all of you the best of luck and stay safe. xoxo

Well, I’ve been hearing talks about mandating lockdowns. Wondering if another reschedule is needed, or if she should just skip the thing altogether. This sucks.

Yeah i am in NC our wedding date if June 19, 2021 and our venue is at 50% which is 125 guest indoors and we are doing an outdoor ceremony. They haven't said how many guest for outdoors. We have 130 guest on our list but depending on how many RSVP when we send out invites in Feb of next year and depending on what the world looks like is skeptical.

Yeah, so now my state just lowered the outdoor guest count to 75. They said it’s staying this way for a while until things calm down. Like what do I even do at this point haha. I’m just so at a loss. How will I even address my guests about this. Like hey sorry but as you know the guest count lowered to 75 and well hey you just didn’t make the cut. I can’t even imagine.

@dj tanner - I think Rhode Island has an exception for events that are already planned but might need to submit a compliance plan or something

I’m going to have to talk to my event planner about that because you are the third person that mentioned this to me. I keep looking at the Rhode Island rules and regulations, but it’s so hard to find the info specifically for weddings and it’s been changing. And for whatever reason my event planner told me only 75, but I don’t know if that’s because when I initially signed my contract we only signed for 75 ppl as luck would have it. Do you know if that number includes vendors? Another poster mentioned that their state includes vendors in the count?

Our governor is laying out stricter guidelines (small groups, sitting down and no getting up except for food, no dancing, etc). But I reached out to my venue and this is what she said. My venue seems a little more lax, but it is a barn venue with a lot of room and outdoor space.

What is everyone doing for honeymoons, if anything? I think we are going to do a minimoon somewhere not too far and then plan a real honeymoon after things get better.

We are planning on going to an all inclusive resort in Dominic republic in July... we might end up booking next month or January. The resort has a good cancellation policy. I’d just be worried about the flights.
