July Wedding

Athziry, on August 27, 2019 at 9:01 AM Posted in Maryland Planning 0 8
Hello everyone, me and my fiance are planning to get married next year at the end of July and having only the ceremony outside, but I'm getting so many negativity from others that I shouldn't do it during the summer days because of the heat. Have any of you experienced a July wedding outside and was it bearable ?? We live in Maryland btw

July will be extremely hot, but as long as your sticking to your time and not planning a long ceremony. You should be fine. What time is your ceremony? It should help with a ceremony later in the evening.

Make sure your doing what you want and dont worry about the others opinions.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Athziry!

As long as you and your guests are prepared for the heat, everything should be fine. It will be hot, but you can definitely take some actions to make your guests comfortable during your ceremony.

Have you considered making wedding program fans for your guests? That way they will be able to keep themselves cool.

You could also have a water cooler with cute personalized cups so that you can ensure that your guests can stay hydrated and don’t overheat. It would be a really thoughtful touch if you are concerned about the heat.

You could also get some cute parasols so that guests can stay in the shade if they wish. This might be a great idea for some of your older guests, or families with children as they may not want to sit in direct sunlight for a long period of time.

Yeah my best friend got married in the beginning of July. It really was unbelievably hot and we were all red faced and sweaty and our hair fell. It was in the shade, too. She got married in DC, but depending on your part of Maryland, it's the same weather.

Maybe have oscillating fans, glasses of cold water for your guests, and don't make your bridesmaids wear floor length dresses! Also, the I'll, elderly, or children could have problems.

I think you should use your rain site plan as a backup in case it's one of those heatwave days again!

I was a bridesmaid for my best friends wedding in July 15, we were all sweating... with makeup
on and everything. The guest was fanning themselves from being so hot, I would think maybe you can rent out a tent and like a cooler air to blow towards people maybe?
    Good Luck anyway! :-)

July could be really humid, and certainly really hot. I got married in Maryland in May and it was really hot, like in the 80s. Where in MD is your wedding? Are you getting negativity from your VIPs? It might be worth considering what options your venue can offer to keep your guests cool, what is the venue like, and is there an indoor space you could use? Maybe an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception?
