July wedding

Olivia, on April 17, 2020 at 8:37 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 21
Hi my fellow brides. I am just curious.. anyone have a July wedding? Our venue said they won’t know till mid May and I’m feeling quite nervous. I don’t want to cancel, but I just wanted to see if anyone is feeling the same. Perhaps someone feels pretty confident for July. I’m conflicted! Keeping it as it is now 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm July 19! I was feeling anxious at times before but now that states are reopening soon , I'm feeling a lot more hopeful! We are in Florida. Most of our guests are traveling but none are flying and we are also going to cut our guest list to about 50, but we're waiting to make that fianl call until about May.

Ahhh so surreal isn’t it? I am in CT so I def hear the pressure you’re feeling. I spoke to my venue and they said they haven’t heard anything yet and they will see what CDC releases in early May. So my thoughts are that I’m going to wait till mid May to make that reschedule choice 🤷🏼‍♀️ When are you sending your invites out.. I’m thinking mid May to be safe. Ugh what a mess! Hoping for you as well

My mom suggested to send them out in June. Luckily for us we did save the dates so everyone knows when the wedding is. By the time invites go out in June they should know whether or not they are attending I would think. We have to let our venue know the final count two weeks before so if we send them out early June , we should have enough time! What's your guest count? And yes it can be very frustrating at times! What helps me though is still trying to plan so doing things to keep me busy! You should try it! I'm hoping and praying all goes well for us summer brides! We do have a back up date for August 16 though.

That’s so awesome that your venue will allow you to have a tentative back up date reserved. I think mine is an all or nothing mentality in the dates. Good point from your mom, our invite has a rsvp by June 1st.. but I think we’re gonna type up a blurb on word that says RSVP June 14th and if we have to cancel we will let everyone know the new date. I am sending all the prayers your way too! I’m crossing all my body parts!!!

Did you do save the dates? You could always try to ask if you're able to do a back up date just in case if you haven't already. And yes at this point, people should know your wedding date haha. I think 2-3 weeks is enough time for them to know if they are able to come. But thank you! Same to you!! Stay hopeful!

Hi ! I’m from New Jersey . Our wedding is July ! 99 days to be exact .
We are very nervous because things are not looking good and we are close to NYC . A lot to my fiancé family is from NY . We are giving a few more weeks and going to make a decision. My fiancé wants to postpone it but Iam just not ready yet to say yes to that . I’m scared . I feel like we don’t know when things will be okay and social distancing thing will be for a while . Also for people to get back on their feet with money like we have people that need to fly out to us and stuff . I don’t know what to do . I’m nervous but I’m here for you girls . This is such a stressful time . My heart breaks for all of the spring brides . This is such a scary time . Hope everyone is safe .

Ah okay, you’re not too far off. I’m in CT so I know our governors are all working together which scares me!!! I was told by my venue that CDC will release new guidelines beginning of May. My assumption is we’ll have to base it off of that. On the hopeful side -We have about a solid month before we have to really make all those choices. So, go forward with your wedding send ur invites do your thing. ( I’m sending mine out mid May if they say that I have a chance for July) I pray we start to open by June 1 - I really do! I am sending all positive feelings your way

Thank you Olivia . That was so sweet . We practically neighbors ! I hope they come up with a plan for out states. It’s scary but I’m glad the East coast is working together . The thing is my invitations are being made by a company and I asked the lady to not put the date yet so she wants me to tell her the decision in the beginning of May . She said we could send them out on May 24th if the date is okay but I would have to let her know the first week of May . I just don’t want to loose money on the invitations ,they were very so pricey. Hoping the next few things will be able to tell more .
I also send positive thoughts and energy to you and your family ! Stay safe ❤️

That’s the worst! my venue said they should know the new guidelines in beginning of May! That stinks about the invites, that’s strange she can’t leave it with no date. Worse case, try vista print. I got my invites for a good price! I plan to use them again if I have to 😒

What’s your guest count like? If it’s more then 50 people I would postpone based off the new guidelines for opening America up again. CT is joining forces with NY, NJ, RI, and DE (maybe a couple other) to reopen together and since NY is getting hit the hardest, CT will not be reopening for a while in terms of unlimited person gatherings.

We are May 30th and so far our venue and vendors are still good to go, but I honestly don't think we'll be able to have our wedding then (60-80 people, in New Hampshire). Our venue's only alternative dates available for 2020 were July and October. I'm wary of July, but do not want an October wedding and cannot live this nightmare of uncertainty for the next six months. I feel like July could potentially be a good time, because it could fall after the current wave of infections ends but before then next one begins and school will be out and there will be warm weather, which should be beneficial to slowing transmission.

We've been delaying as long as we can before making a decision (we're going to start looking at our options in depth this week), primarily so we can have as much information as possible before moving towards a Plan B. We've already invested so much time, energy, and emotions into planning our wedding and I don't want to do this process over and over again only to have our expectations shattered each time. It's so stressful.

What a wave of emotions you must be feeling. Somewhat on edge esp in May. I truly think you’ll know 100 percent as soon as May hits. That’s what my venue in CT says anyways. I think July may be ok, but things change week to week, month to month. Then you hear that it may come back in the fall or winter... idk I’m with you on the draining aspect. It’s too much of a emotional roller coaster!!!! I hope your wedding is good to go

We are July 25th, roughly 80 people in Houston. I was feeling really hopeless but we have not been hit as hard so our governor is opening up a little bit starting late this month. Today I’m feeling like July will be possible but probably we will only end up with 50-60 people. Maybe less. I’m ok with that. We’ve already moved from 5/24-7/25 and don’t want to postpone again. I’ve got everything crossed for all of us!

I’m hearing that Texas is slowly doing its thing! I’m so hopeful for you that you’ll be ok by July. I think for y’all it will be totally fine with under 100. You have like 90 days.
Sadly I’m in CT.. nothing is opening until mid May so I’m super scared that July isn’t gonna happen Smiley sad I think it all depends if the numbers continue to decrease within this month. Then we could potentially be in “ phase 3” by mid June ish. Sadly, we’ll have to make that call end of May / beginning of June for our guests
Every body part is crossed for you too! 💗
