July 25th wedding

Priscilla, on March 28, 2020 at 10:59 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 6
My wedding is July 25th in Manhattan ( it’s a destination wedding) I’m having 80-100 people half of my guests live in nyc ( I’m originally from New York) and the other half would be coming in from Florida where we live now. I’m getting nervous because my best friend who works at a venue in Queens is getting calls from her brides rescheduling their June, July and August weddings . Do u think I should wait it out or postpone ?

Those people rescheduling July and August weddings might be doing it for other reasons such as monetary. I know with the pandemic many people got laid off so they probably needed time to save money, etc. it might not even be due to the restrictions set by the pandemic itself that they moved their weddings.

Honestly, right now? NYC is having a super rough time.

Here you can find a thread with links to discussions and resources, if you decide to postpone.

Hopefully things will be ok by July, but we just aren't sure right now.

Can you hold off on decision making for a few weeks? We'll have a better idea of what we're looking at by mid-April...

I’d wait a little longer. Things in New York are bad now, but from what I’ve been hearing the people who are doing the worst are going to turn around in a few weeks. And it’s only April! I’d wait at least until the end of the month just to see how things go. I agree with a PP, my friend whose wedding was in June rescheduled and it was due to monetary reasons from being laid off.

NYC is getting hit pretty hard by the virus. However, I would still wait a couple of weeks to see what happens before postponing.
