Juggling wedding planning and coursework writing

Dolores, on January 28, 2022 at 8:29 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Girls, I need your help. How do you manage to combine wedding planning an work/study? I plan to have a wedding soon, but my academic burden seems to be too heavy. I have to write a coursework and I'm very afraid to do it. Is there someone having the same struggles I have? How do you cope with them? (perhaps you have some useful sources to share). I will be grateful for any help.

I feel you! I'm in a graduate program and wedding planning too (and have a full time job). You have to pace yourself. Don't try to do everything at once. Make a good timeline/checklist for everything you need for the wedding and decide what you're going to work on each month or week. Take advantage of breaks in school semesters or in between coursework. For example, I turned in 2 papers this week and only have reading to do for next week, so I'm going to devote all day Saturday to wedding stuff (organizing my decor that has been piling up, returning emails to vendors, and reconciling my wedding budget). It can get overwhelming, but I just try to focus on one thing or the other knowing that I have a plan.

My work can be extremely demanding 24 hours a day at times. That's why we (originally...) planned 2 years in advance. Then, when I had the motivation and time I could plan in blocks. Turned out to be 3 thanks to covid blocking travel last summer, but I still prefer it to rushing. I haven't had a single "stressful" or "overwhelming" moment thanks to this.

Hey girl! I'm in my fourth year of a PhD program and my wedding is set for 09/03/2023. Have you looked at the The Knot Wedding Planner (can get of Amazon)? It is super helpful because it lays out a timeline of what you should accomplish for wedding plan and by roughly what date. Also, has anyone close to you (friend or family member) had experience with weddings with more time on their plate? They could possibly help you with planning!

Girls, thank you all for the useful information on time-management, it greatly helped me to manage my wedding planning activities. But I'm also getting ready for internship and want to find the way to assist me in advance. I've mentioned that I have dififculties with writing college papers, so I found a useful guide on writing a college student cover letter for internship that turned out to be very helpful. There are many more useful guides you may find, and perhaps, you'll save time and spend it with your lovely husband thinking about your future wedding as I did.
