Jewelry Advice for Wedding Day – What Worked Best for You?

HARGEMI, on August 21, 2025 at 6:29 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi everyone!
I’m in the middle of planning my wedding look, and I’m a bit torn when it comes to jewelry. On one hand, I want something elegant and timeless, but I also don’t want it to overpower my dress.

For those of you who are already married (or close to your big day):

  • Did you go with classic pieces like pearls/diamonds, or something more personal and unique?

  • Was there one piece of jewelry you feel made the biggest difference in your overall look?

  • Any “I wish I knew this before” tips?

Would love to hear your experiences and advice!

Well, all my jewelry, pearls and diamonds included, are personal to me no matter the style. To answer your question, "what I wish I knew before" was to not buy new for the sake of buying new. My bridal vision was to wear dangling white southsea pearls bought 12 years before, but my parents were insistent that I should get something new for myself, their treat. They thought it would make me a happier planner, but It was honestly more stressful shopping and wasting my own time. Ultimately, I wore my own jewelry (and shoes) already in my closet as planned, and gave the newer diamonds to my sister as a MOH present.

If I was to give advice it would be, test try a look that makes you feel the most yourself at your most amazing. Whether you source your accessories from Amaz*n, your own closet, the jewelry store or borrowed from your BFF, your look will be uniquely you. Imagine that on your wedding day, you'll be fully done up in makeup, hair, and formal attire so accessories should not overpower your look. You'll look like royalty no matter what. If you wear white, I suggest clear or light colored stones or metal. If you wear color, then try jewelry in that similar color. Say yes to the dress India has amazing jewelry inspo. Best wishes!

I did pearls with my dress. It made my look elegant which I want for my wedding anyways. I think you should find jewelry that is your style, match your dress and make you feel good/special on your day

I also wanted to choose pearls at first, but then I remembered that in our culture it’s believed that wearing pearls at a wedding brings tears. That’s a superstition. I’m not superstitious, but I still decided it should be something with sapphire instead. Actually, I suggested choosing jewelry with a birthstone – both yours and the groom’s. I think it’s symbolic and personal
