Jacket/sweater with Wedding Dress?

Jennaalord, on January 14, 2020 at 12:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Are you getting married in a colder month? Will you have a special jacket to go over your wedding dress? Our big day is in October in Texas - so that means it could be 100 degrees or 30 degrees Smiley smile Everything is indoors, but I am wondering if I should have a sweater or jacket just in case! My dress is off-the-shoulder. If you have any cute jacket/sweater ideas, I'd love to see them!Jacket/sweater with Wedding Dress? 1

I'm getting myself and my bridesmaids pashmina shawls from Etsy! It could easily be 60-70 degrees here, but I'd rather be safe than sorry Smiley smile

I'm getting married in February and while it could easily be 60-70 degrees here, I bought pashmina shawls for myself and my bridesmaids Smiley smile

Oh that'll be a perfect weight! I think a shawl is a good option!

I’ve seen other brides do fur shawls and it’s beautiful! Another option if you’re an edgy bride is to do a leather jacket. I’d hesitate on a sweater or anything too informal because it will downplay your beautiful dress

Good point and I totally agree! I definitely want something "fancy" - I was thinking a leather (or faux leather) jacket or faux fur jacket. I actually love this light pink leather jacket - just not sure where to look for one. I am tall and usually the sleeves are so short! Suggestions welcome!

I'm getting married in May, but it's SF so it's *always* chilly Smiley xd

I'll be wearing a silvery iridescent leather jacket for the outdoor photos. I really did not want to get one that says "bride" because it just means I'll be wearing it once, which seems like a waste of money.

It’s funny you say that, when I was imagining a leather jacket I was thinking pink would be nice 😄 I totally get the long arm issue as a fellow tall girl. I’d recommend finding a store that has a good return policy so you can try them on. I saw ASOS has a couple of pink leather jackets and I’ve always had good luck with returns with them

I agree! I’d want it to be something I’d wear again. Silver sounds really pretty!

I wore a faux fur shawl/wrap/stole type thing that I got from Etsy. It was super comfy, soft, and warm enough

We're going to be in the NC mountains in November, but I have a really high cold tolerance! I knitted myself a shrug to be safe and to create a nice keepsake Smiley smile

That's sweet! I'd love to have something I could wear again too. I'm also thinking I probably won't get very cold with it being indoors plus I'll be moving a lot, etc. but ya never know! Smiley smile It's sweet that you made it yourself too - extra special.
