Dedicated December 2020

It's finally wedding year! Now what?

Chelsea, on January 2, 2020 at 5:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
2020 is finally here!!!
Our wedding date is 12/5/20 we have our venue booked, wedding bands (hit up holiday sales), and are starting to look into photographers. What is next?

We booked our venue right away (in July) because that was very important to us. But we've pretty much have done nothing since. I was curious about your timeline suggestions on planning, booking, and buying. When should we do everything?!? I am a planner by nature so I am not afraid of planning early, but I am not sure what the standard is for catering, DJ, officiant, etc.
I appriciate the tips!!Chelsea

I would get all your vendors locked in now. We had everyone booked by July of last year (so a year ahead of time). You may find that some of your first choices are already booked, but given that you are having an off season wedding, you may get lucky.

I would say that now is an appropriate time to book stuff! Book anything that needs "booking", but hold off on stuff that needs buying. The only exception to that would be your wedding dress since it takes time to ship and more time to alter. It's better to have a good cushion for something that important! Otherwise, you have time to buy stuff as you see sales

Wedding twin! We have our ceremony and reception venues booked, catering booked, back up weather plan, DJ and photographer. I am also a planner by nature and wanted to get everything out of the way quickly so I could coast into the wedding 3-4 months out hahaha

The sooner you book vendors the better. Prices can change from year to year, so booking early prevents inflation. Dress shopping should be done soon as well. Start narrowing down decorations, flowers, centerpieces etc.

Definitely set all of your vendors up now, the details you can fill in later!

The earlier you book, the better! I'd look at photographers, catering, bartending, and dresses!!! My wedding is 10/10/20 and everything is already planned and booked. I wanted to know exactly how much all the big things would be so I could save accordingly. I have a wedding excel spreadsheet that is literally crazy. lol
