Is your engagement ring new or a family heirloom?

No story. It’s just gorgeous and new from Shane Co. I guess the only story is that we were moving to Denver so my fiancé bought it here so I could get maintenance on it. We didn’t have Shane Co in NC.

Brand new, no big story but I love it!

Mine is also new. I guess the only story behind it is that FH and his sister flew to NYC together one day just to shop for and buy my ring!

Brand new! No big story behind it, other than H had it for 4 months prior to giving it to me! It was in the cabinet above the fridge We did see some friends of ours at Shane Co when were were shopping for rings...and they thought it was because we were pregnant because since it was still pretty early on in our relationship (we had been together about 5 or 6 months at that point). Not pregnant...still not pregnant...just *married* and in love haha

However, we would like for it to be passed down! It is a gorgeous ring and I would love for it to be used by a future family member.

Mine is new Took DH several months apparently to pick out the perfect one. My diamond from my previous marriage was passed down from his grandmother and I have it in a safe to give to my son to put into a ring for his future wife though.

Mine is new, I fell in love with the stock photo of it (which says a lot because rings are so much more beautiful in person) years before he proposed!

Mine is new to us, but we got it off Legto from a really nice lady who used it as a promise ring!

Little bit of both!
The center stone was a loose one my late papaw had (why? Who knows! FH likes to say it was in my gpa's belly button ring🤣)
But my dad gave it to FH when asking for his blessing. The rest of the ring is brand new.

My engagement ring diamond shape is marquise, my moms engagement/wedding band is also marquise! The winter before FH proposed (2015) we did a secret operation for my dad to get my moms wedding band fixed for Christmas. We took it to the jeweler, mom never knew, and had it the diamonds replaced that had fallen out. I think I expressed one time that I thought my moms ring was pretty and tried it on.

5 months later, FH proposed to me with a marquise solitaire diamond! It's so special because my mom and I match now, and its so unique and a shape that isn't too "trendy" right now. It's simple with just enough personality! FH picked the exact stone and the setting on Blue Nile and had it custom made!

New FH picked it because of the symbolism! 2 hearts in infinity represented us being in love forever! It is a great story!!

No big story here. It came from the store to hidden in the car to my finger. I love it though.

I always wanted vintage and definitely sent my husband on a wild goose hunt to find it. My ring is 100 years old, but the center stone is new as it came to the jeweler without one. Fine by me...something old, something new.

Mine is new and customized in my favorite metal color and the stone was handpicked by FH. My favorite thing about it is not only how perfect it is for me, but that he enlisted my little sister (and MOH) for help picking the perfect bling! I can’t wait to find a wedding band to go with it!

Mine is new. My grandmother offered my fiancé her 3k ring and he respectfully declined. He wanted to design it and personalize it to me. He felt like giving me my grandmothers ring was the cheap way out. However, I disagree. I LOVEEEEE my ring but if I received my grandmothers I would have thought that it was sentimental and thoughtful
