I'm not sure if I should have him in a Gray tux since that is what my groomsmen will wear, or would it be fine for him to wear a suit. My first thought is that he needs to match the rest of the wedding party? But then I'm thinking, should he be different from them. I don't know but I need help and...

My dad is wearing a black tux to match the GM... just a different color vest/tie.

My Dad will wear whatever suit he wants. I'm sure he will pick something that will coordinate and go with the season. He is important but he is not a groomsmen so I don't want him to look like one.

We're not having tuxes either. FH and the groomsmen are wearing grey suits, and my dad is going to wear a grey suit he already owns. If they go with matching ties, dad can have one too, if he wants. Doesn't matter- I agree that they're spending enough money already, no need for a new suit.

My dad walked me down the aisle. He wore the same tux that the groomsmen and DH wore, but with a different coloured vest and tie. They all wore black tuxes with white shirts. The guys wore green vests and ties, my dad wore a dark purple tie and vest and my FIL wore a dark blue tie and vest. The dads vests and ties matched what the moms were wearing.

I'm thinking of letting my daddy wear his typical dress up attire. Nice jeans, nice boots, and a button up shirt. I will only have him wear a purple shirt to match the colors. He would be willing to wear a tux, but I don't find it necessary and would rather he be comfortable. (also, it would my the groomsman jealous lol)

Edit: Well now that has changed, my daddy will now be wearing a tux I haven't decided if it will be the same vest/tie as the groomsmen though. If the one thing my mom wants at my wedding is for my dad to wear a tux, I will grant her that. lol

My wedding is outdoors and everyone can see the walk from the building to the ceremony space (~100 meters or so). My Dad will walk me most of the way, and then we will join my Mom and walk own the aisle with one of them on each side of me. My family is Scottish so he will be wearing a kilt, and we will be piped in. Here's hoping that I don't cry too much when the bagpipes begin!
