Is two years too long for an engagement?

Me and my fiancé got engaged on October 4th and we really wanted to have an October 10th 2020 wedding but we couldn’t find any venues we liked with that date available let alone any dates in October 2020 so we decided to push it out another year to get a venue we wanted for October 2021. Me and my fiancé got engaged on October 4th and we really wanted to have an October 10th 2020 wedding but we couldn’t find any venues we liked with that date available let alone any dates in October 2020 so we decided to push it out another year to get a venue we wanted for October 2021. I was just wondering if 2 years is a long time or will it go fast for us? We’re both almost 30 so we really wanted to get married ASAP. And how soon should we send out save the dates for a wedding 2 years away?

Hi, I don’t think 2 years is a long engagement at all. It gives you plenty of time to start looking at vendors to price them out and save for the cost when you get ready to book. My fiancé and I are both in our 30’s and we got engaged June 2019. When we told everyone we were having a 2 yr engagement people looked at us like we’re crazy. But now with Covid, I’m so glad we decided on it. I searched for vendors our first year engaged. We just finally booked our venue and we have a whole year to save for all our vendors that I liked. Less stressful.
