Is this dress okay to wear to a wedding?

kelly, on March 15, 2017 at 1:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 32

ETA: I have decided against getting this dress. Thank you all for confirming my first thought, that's what I needed to hear.

I was just wondering if this dress is too short/sexy in the back for a wedding? The wedding is at 5:30pm on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend at a very nice yacht club in Massachusetts. I haven't bought it yet because I wanted some unbiased opinions.

Side note: I'm only 5'2"

I'm just unsure, I'm leaning towards it being too short/sexy so any thoughts would help me a lot Smiley smile

If you're concerned about it, you probably shouldn't wear it. If I wear something I am unsure about, I constantly think about the shortness or whatever throughout the day.

Do you know what the dress code for the wedding is? This looks more club than cocktail to me. If the dress code is formal or black-tie this would not be appropriate.

I think it looks like an outfit for a bachelorette party, not a wedding, personally.

I don't know enough about Mass and the vibe of the area.

If it was NYC on a yacht Saturday night- I doubt anyone would care.

I know on me that would be way to short- but if you are shorter it might be just fine.

Cute dress! It's possible it's long enough, but might be too casual/bachelorette for a fancy yacht club.

I think it would be better for other events, not a yacht club wedding. thanks for the update

I wouldn't. If you're unsure enough to ask here, I would say that means you'll be questioning it the entire time. It's pretty, but I don't think it works for a wedding.

You're 5'2 so the length would probably be ok on you, but I don't think it sends the right message because it's a bandage dress. Bandage dresses always seem very sexual/clubby to me unless the person has no curves.

It is a super cute dress; but if it is a formal wedding, I would pick something else. They always say at my work, "If you question it, you probably shouldn't wear it."
