Is this an okay father/daughter dance song?

I definitely think that is an acceptable song! If my dad had sang that song to me instead of My Girl when I was little I definitely would have chosen that!

My dad and I aren't close either so I let him choose the F/D song at my first wedding. He picked Then They Do by Trace Adkins. All I really remember was how long that song seemed LOL

I think it's ok. In fact, a great DJ might be able to change the "brown" to "blue" without a huge stink, as well...then, have him print a couple cd singles for you and your dad, since it's "your" song

I think that's a great choice, it's special to you! Also, I'm pretty sure there's an "edited" version that replaced the "making love in the green grass" line with "laughing and running" again if you feel kind of weird about that line. I've definitely heard it on the radio on some of the really soft rock stations, not sure if it would be tough to find.

Go for it. I'm using song that's in a completely different language. I don't even know what it translates to, but it brings us memories of when I was little.

That would be fun! It's so much better when the song means something, even if the people don't understand why you chose it, you and your dad will. It will surprise him you remember him singing that when you were a little girl.

@Stephanie, it's really FH's mom that's pushing for it. Honestly now that I think about it, my dad hasn't even brought it up! He's actually been pretty cool through all the planning. I know it'd mean a lot to him though.

Absoluetly!! I feel that anyway you are able to make your wedding personal to you, the better. They are your memories and there is no right or wrong way to do anything....it's all about you!!

I think it'd be great. My dad and I are dancing to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong because it reminds me of dad, not because of any father/daughter meaning behind it.

If I do a father/daughter song it'll probably be more than words by extreme bc last time i saw him we danced to it..in front of my fh.(it was the first time my fh saw me and my dad that close) so it definitely means something to us.=)

I'm not familiar with that Song but I think as long as you fade it out before the dirty talk your good! Lol I'm not close with my dad either, but he's a riot, we are going to dance to Rodney Atkins cleaning my gun, totally fits his personality lol
