Is there a way to control your period before the wedding night/honeymoon?

Emma, on April 6, 2014 at 5:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Hi. I'm irregular with my cycle and sometimes I don't get it for weeks. So I have no idea when it's going to come and I wouldn't like my period to ruin my wedding night. Plus, we want to go to the beach and swimming. So it would really be a disaster.

Birth control is going to be the easiest option.

Birth control. I started in January just for this very reason. My period will now hit two weeks before my wedding.

Not sure if going on the pill is an option for you and it might not regulate fast enough as some people it takes 3 months. You can also not take the placebo's if you're close to your wedding day as not to worry.. You will just skip a period Smiley smile

If you're going to try to use the pill to regulate it I would go to your doctor ASAP. Like Michele said its different for everybody and can take longer than you have. Your doctor should be able to answer any questions you have.

I've been on birth control pills since I was 17. I skip my period and only let myself have it when it's convenient (as long as it's at least every 3 months, otherwise I start spotting). My doctor says it's totally safe and it really works out for me. FH works offshore and is gone three weeks at a time. I'm able to control my periods so I only have them when he's gone. I also skip them throughout the summer so I don't have to worry about tampons and bikinis and I can skip it if we are planning a vacation.

Just something to think about. I know the pill isn't the right choice for everyone but it's been great for me. I love having full control of my periods like this.

I am on the pill for the same reason it is very good if you can plan around events. I did pick my wedding date around what week of pills I will be on so I don't have to mess with.

I use the pill and if it is going to fall where I don`t want it to I skip the green pills to skip my period. You get rid of the iron pills and start a new pack. Ortho tri cyclen should help regulate you anyways.

You can try reducing your stress during the crunch time of your planning usually right before the wedding. Stress can make your period come earlier than expected, but then again mother nature has her own rules.

I'm on the nuva ring. I've been on it for years. I can't do pills. I skip my period whenever I want and when I don't I only get it for 3 days max. It's the best bc for me.

Get the pill! If your wedding week out be your "week off" just keep taking them and you shouldn't have any problems

I don't know if you have enough time at this point to go on the pill and have it be regulated.
