I just received an email from another wedding site and they mention that toasts should begin after the first course. This is how we planned it. 4:30 - 5:00 Ceremony 5:00 - 6:00 Cocktails and Appies 6:00 - Intro, First Dance, Toasts 6:30 - 7:30 Dinner 7:30 - Cut the cake Immediately after cutting the...

I just received an email from another wedding site and they mention that toasts should begin after the first course. This is how we planned it.

4:30 - 5:00 Ceremony

5:00 - 6:00 Cocktails and Appies

6:00 - Intro, First Dance, Toasts

6:30 - 7:30 Dinner

7:30 - Cut the cake

Immediately after cutting the cake, the DJ will play the first dance song...my fave....ROlling Stones' "Start Me Up".

So, while tradition dictates after the first course, am I totally doing it incorrectly?

Thanks in advance.

@ Jennifer what are you using the main floor for, if you are not using it at all I think you should do your first dance when you are ready for your guest to dance. I think it should go the bride and groom first, Mother/son & father/daughter dance and after that anyone can dance. That way ever one would be comfortable that is just my opinion.

No, I think it's whatever you want it to be. Hell, my wedding is in the morning and the time line is all kinds of early haha. We are having ours like this

9:30am-10:15am drinks and mingling (guests while were taking pics)

10:15- grand entrance then right into our first dance

10:30-breakfast buffet then once everyone is seated we're having the toasts done.

11:00 special dance Father daughter dance, and grandmother groom dance.

11:30 bouquet toss immediately followed by the cake cutting

11:45-12:45 guests can dance, and mingle.

    .

my photogs are out at 12 lol So I want to get in all of the main events and then we can dance and mingle until 12:30
