Is my alternative cake idea tacky?

Nah. I like it! ☺ but keep in mind I want a slice of each cheesecake and a slice of each cake 😂
If anything, you can do cupcakes as well!

See cupcakes to me do look a bit tacky but that is probably because i taught pre-k and cupcakes scream elementary school to me

Its your wedding do what you want. Try not to worry about what everyone else will think because ultimately the wedding is for you and your future husband. If you think a decorated cake looks cheesy stick with something simple. Dessert tables can be done pretty nicely.
See, Im more over the top and having our cake in the shape of a ship. All white with detailing. But obviously people will have opinions on it....and quite honestly with the wedding 3 months away I stopped caring as much...lol.

I love the idea of lots of different cakes! Pinterest has been my go to site during this planning journey. If you search "wedding cupcakes" or "wedding cheesecake" on there, lots of beautiful ideas and designs come out!

Hey Carmen! When I was an event planner (mainly weddings) I had a bunch of weddings that would forgo the the traditional wedding cake. One did 4 different cheesecake flavors, most did cupcakes or donuts. Make sure to have enough servingware and have the different cakes on risers, the different heights will really pull it together. I actually thought about doing cheesecakes because my FH doesn’t really like cake. I think it’s a great idea!

Hi Carmen! This is a great idea! Super unique. I have seen couples do a variety of pies, cupcakes, "gourmet" decorated donuts, and more... arranged on the prettiest dessert tables!

These alternatives are always a hit because they'r super unique, so cute, and give guests tons of sweet & delicious options.

We’re doing a dessert bar totally doable and not tacky at all! We’ll have mini pies, mini bundt cakes, mini cupcakes, macarons, and cookies. As well as a cutting cake because FH wants to keep the tradition of cutting an actual cake.
