Is it weird to blend metals on wedding day

Nicole, on July 27, 2022 at 9:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
So I have always love the silver jewelry so bad originally planned on only using that. But when my gram passed away I always wanted to wear that necklace on my wedding day. Would it be weird if I worse the necklace that is gold then the rest be silver included my engagement ring.

I think it's really sweet to wear your grandma's necklace! Outside of detail shots, all your jewelry pieces won't be close enough that it would be discernable in pictures or in person. And metals are neutral anyways, so it won't look off either. If you're really concerned about it, try wearing a gold necklace with other silver jewelry for a day and see if it bugs you or anyone notices.

I don't think it would be weird at all! The sentimental value of "having" your gram there on your wedding day greatly outweighs the contrasting of metals that may not even be visible in your pictures, anyway!

Thank you I was worried about that. I wanted to include her in the wedding but also didn’t want to wear everything else being gold

It would be a plus to have people notice it. Then you would get to mention it is for remembering your Gram.

Absolutely would not be weird. My color scheme centers around "mixed metallics". Maybe it used to be a fashion taboo, but I don't think it is anymore.

If you really do want to wear all silver, though, you could include the necklace by wrapping it around your bouquet. You can use the ribbons that wrap the bouquet to make sure it's secure. I've seen that before.

Go for it!!! Seriously 5 years from now you'll be thinking "wow why did I even care about that." It's not going to look bad, and you'll have that special memory for the rest of your life Smiley heart

I think it would work out just fine. I know that that was a wedding trend a few years ago too.
