    Nope. 150 is too many.

We thought we could have 120 for 10k. We've bumped that to 15k, and that does NOT include my dress & alterations (3k), makeup/hair, shoes & accessories and gifts for BM/FH. So really it will be more like 20k all said and done.

We are having a very simple wedding with the same amount of people, and spending double that.

Anything is possible. It just depends on what is important to you. My budget is $10,000 for 175 people and it totally possible. We're having tacos (around $3) per person. My STDs cost .$36 each and my invites will be about $2.00. My dress was $500. The alcohol is slowly being purchased and we are just hiring bartenders to serve it. I've noticed from these threads that brides waste money in unnecessary places (spending $8 per invitation for instance). For your budget you won't be spending $3500 for a photographer, so you look for an apprentice or someone who does it for a hobby who will cost considerably less. We also went to the flower market to price flowers and center prices at a discounted rate. You have to think outside the box for these things. I'm getting married and having a party with people who are important in my life...and those people don't care that I'm going to use plastic for my dinnerware. Just a thought.

Absolutely. You just gotta be smart about it and get your priorities (and expectations) straight.

Veronica, where upstate NY? I'm getting married at a golf course as well at sodus, NY near Rochester. The venue is $500 including ceremony. Doable but going to go over $7500 depending on your location of course! Mines closer to $12k but we're also paying for housing for the wedding party. Good luck!!

Yup, I had a destination wedding and spent around 6k for everything and $800 was our room... It all depends on what you are looking for.

Yes, a licensed and insured taquero and yes $3 per person. Usually it's about $5 per person, but a good friend is doing it for us and only charging us for the meat. They are very popular in Los Angeles if you are not from the area. I refuse to pay a lot of money for food that is usually sub-par and you can't go wrong with tacos.

We are actually having good friend of ours who is a chef prepare the food as a gift to us which is a huge help ! We haven't decided on what we will be serving but most likely it will be a choice of chicken and barbacoa or carinitas (Mexican dishes) side dishes will be rice, salad also beans

The cake was offered to be paid by a family friend.

The video and the photography we got a good deal both will cost us $1,000

Centerpieces i am making myself going to cost me about $500

Venue was $3,000 but a family member wanted to help and offered to pay $1,000 .

The Dj also offered to play at our wedding for free as a gift to us.

We won't be serving alcohol we don't really drink neither do our guests for religious reasons. Not that we can't it's just not a big deal to us or the guests . Actually I rarely have attended a wedding where they serve alcohol .

Also to clarify... we never have asked anyone for help. Everything that we are getting help with is from people who wanted to help us and offered to. Once we got engaged people actually came up to us to ask if they could pay for our cake or food etc .. it's just how our culture is. That's a gift they wanted to give us and we would do the same for someone else... so many people jump to conclusions lol

@Kristina - have you actually tasted these tacos?? Because that's cheaper than Taco Bell. I go to local taquerias all the time and they charge like $2.75 per TACO. I am highly skeptical of this situation.

Are they just dropping off a pan of tacos and then leaving? Are they providing chafing dishes to keep the food at a safe temperature till it's ready to be eaten?

Yes, with a smaller guest list. We have 100 people and were right at 6,000. We got a good deal on our venue, know a photographer so was able to save there, know our caterer so was able to save there.. got a special for the Dj wich also comes with a photobooth (they had a st pattys day special when we booked) we have a day of planner who supplies all decorations and linens. As long as you dont expect a very wedding it can be done.

I am hosting 60 people for $7000. I am doing the ceremony outside at my family's place, renting a tent, and having bbq catered. We are buying our own alcohol and doing the wedding earlier in the day think, lunch time reception. I shopped around for everything. got my veil, sash, jewelry, shoes, and a bunch of other stuff from amazon and saved a ton. It's totally doable, just keep your guest list small, and shop around for everything. you can save money on all the "details" and spend the majority of money on hosting properly. Good luck!
